Satoshi is a-sneak-sneak-sneaking through (relatively) tall grass, likely trying to catch a unicorn or other rare creature. Either or, the feline can't help being drawn in a winding path toward a hollow log, where high-pitched yips and growls can be heard. Curiosity and all that.
Mahri isn't sneaking so much as not-so-subtly stalking the vampiric feline. Curiosity of her own had the lycan wondering just where the little mage was going. "Ah, Kitten.." she's about to ask what the female is up to, until she hears the mewlings. Brow furrowed, she too makes a bee-line for the log. "..the hell is that?"
Shishi isn't being led so much as he is being dragged by the hand. The vampire puts up enough resistance so that his son has to walk backwards, putting all of his weight into pulling his father with both hands, "Come on, Blue. You can hear it too, yah?" the boy pleaded over the top of a light blue scarf. "Yah... yah." the vampire sulked as he's dragged through the forest in the direction of the 'yelps' knowing not much good ever came from Yellow hearing small animal noises...
Kasyr is trying to catch a different sort of prey. To be exact the hybrid is oh so casually pursuing the feline, with full intent of seeing if he can catch her when she's on the crux of catching whatever she's stalking. As it is, with the sudden awareness of other people present, the hybrid simply ceases skulking after the feline- instead stepping out from his hiding place amongst the trees, if only to quietly fall in line.
Portea can't help but notice the strange gathering of people so near his hideaway, not to mention the odd 'vibs' only he can pick up on. So, like any sane person, the psion ventures forth to take a look, raptor-like eyes catching sight of a few familiar faces along the way.
Mahri 's head snaps around just in time to catch Blue and Yellow, Kasyr (whom she barely restrains curling a lip at, though she's not quite sure why) and Portea. Apparently, she and Satoshi weren't the only two to hear the pathetic calling.
Satoshi merely blinks in quiet surprise at the area being populated by familiar folks. "Is there a party I wasn't invited to..?"
Rawnie had been stalking through the grasses of the glade, making sure to keep down wind of the unicorn, and waiting for the perfect time to pounce on the prey. Unfortunately, the 'yips' and strange 'mewling' sounds draw the gypsy's attention away from her future mount. It's then that she notices the slew of people sulking towards the log permeating the noise. Unfortunately, Rawnie's unicorn bolts at the sight of the slow gathering group and Rawnie finds herself mount-less and more curious about the sudden gathering than anything. So she too makes her way towards the log full of questionable occupants.
Grae had been on the prowl for some time now though his usual hunting grounds were a bit of a distance from this. But he found himself intruiged by a number of scents that he found ever so familiar, inspiring the feline to deviate from his given path into one that was more forged by instinct than any pre-existing knowledge regarding the direction he now traveled. And it would be that eventually he came upon a crowd of people he mostly did not recognize save for three...two whom he was fond of pestering and one he knows slightly much less than the prior two. Thus Grae decided his time was best spent spying upon the crowd from the darkness of wood and of shadow rather than join the crowd and making himself known.
Kasyr seems, for the most part, utterly lost at the sheer amount of people present, "Er...Honestly. I think my thunder was stolen, when it comes to stalking tu to trouble. J'en sais pas. Er. Also. Hi, love." And with a sheepish wave to the ice Magus, the tiefling promptly falls quiet.
Shishi puffs out his cheeks at the crowd he's been pulled into and immediately gets that paranoid feeling he usually gets when walking into such a crowd in such a remote place as this. -Why are they all here waiting for me?- he asks himself, taking just a single step backwards. Yellow on the other hand is less put off by the sudden gathering and wiggles fingers, taken away form pulling Blue along, towards those he's seen before, only greeting one by name, "Hi, Miss Mahri. Did you hear those noises too?"
Mahri 's nose is almost overwhelmed by the myriad of scents assaulting it. Insistent complaints echoing from the log gain her attention though and the lycan crouches down to peer into the dark recess of the hollowed out log. "What have we here?" Most everyone else is pretty much ignored in favor of this mystery.
Portea merely shrugs as he leans against one of the trees nearest the hollow log. "Was just in the area and happened to notice the unusual swell of activity." Replies the psion, yet there is a strange gleam in his eyes that seem to suggest additional reasons.
Satoshi pauses upon reaching the log to glance back at the strange gathering to offer various greetings to each: a smirk and nod for Mahri, salute for Portea, waggle of fingers for Yellow and Blue, and delighted grin for Kasyr. Rawnie, being the unfamiliar one, gets a cautious nod before the feline turns back to the log, mutters, "Wonder what we got here~," and delivers a light kick to it. The shrill chorus of squeals that follow are enough to make Satoshi jump back--and likely collide with someone--with surprise.
Mahri says to Yellow, "I did, kiddo. What do you think it is?" A mischievous wink is passed to the boy. "How's Lucky doing? Get him to fly yet?"
Kasyr said to Satoshi, "Smooth Moves."
Rawnie blinks back her surprise as the sudden shrill squeals of whatever may be hiding in the log berates the ice mage for kicking it's home. Those known, and those not known, are ignored as she reroutes her gaze to the innards of the log once she's dropped to her knees. "I swear, if somethin' jumps out and eats me..." She mutters, trailing off the last bit in favor of not invoking an unknown wrath from Kasyr for possibly referring to his love as an idiot. Despite her better judgement, Rawnie shoves her arm deep into the hole, attempting to fish out whatever may dwell within only to rip her arm back a second later with a sudden jolt and a string of bandied curses. "Holy hell!"
Shishi looks rather discouraged by the amount of adorable noises that come from the log and he promptly folds his arms and looks in the opposite direction. To Mahri Yellow grins and nods, "He's okay! We had his wings fixed with mud and he can fly now! It makes him really tired though, so we only do it sometimes." After that happy news is passed on, the boy leaves his father in the dust and hops over to the log, trying to get a look inside it, "Maybe a baby crocodile..." is his guess when Rawnie pulls her arm out of the hole so quickly.
Portea returns Satoshi's salute before offering Mahri a warm smile. "Sounds like gathering about the same size as our own in there." A soft chuckle escaping his parted lips as he watches Rawnie yank her arm from the log.
Rawnie says to Yellow, "I don' think crocs have tha sudden ability to burn tha hell outta people." She grunts suckling on a blistered finger-tip while the rest of her lobster red hand is babied with her other.
Kasyr is all but about to catch the more than off balance Satoshi, when Rawnies comment reaches his ears. Without a second thought, the hybrid promptly turns towards the Gypsy- hands jerkedly moving to point in her direction, "Err, what's this about burning?"
Rawnie steals up a long stick and decides that prodding whatever monsters might behind in there might be a better course of action than risk her other arm. However, that ploy lost once her attention is grabbed by Kasyr whose words draw means for her to lift her hand in show-and-tell. "There's somethin' in there tha'll burn tha piss right outta yah." Next attention grabber is Yellow who receives a shake of her head. "Chicken's don't mak-" Pausing before deciding to let the boy think it's possibly a chicken, the gypsy nods. "Yeah. It might be a chicken."
Mahri happens to be the person tumbled into, and it might also include Yellow once she tries to jerk him out of the way. The riot of fur-balls that exit the log though, seem to equal the number of people as Portea has so elequently pointed out.
Satoshi is apparently missed by the distracted tiefling and thus that leaves Mahri to collide with.
Shishi 's little boy nods towards Rawnie, bringing a hand to his chin in thought, "Yea... Sounds more like a lizard then, huh? Or a chicken..."
Satoshi hurriedly disentangles herself from the druid so that she can stand steady while eyeing the batch of squeaking, overtly fluffy fox kits tumbling over each other--with an occasional hiccup of fire, blown bubbles, or burst of static coming from them. "Those aren't crocodiles..."
Grae is still somewhere within the woods, watching and waiting with moderate interest at the goings on. Whatever was in the log had peaked his curiousity and so he would stay and see even if he intended to remain out of sight.
Kasyr said to Shishi, "...Chicken-Lizard? ...Cockat- ..oh. It's a ..er. cute looking ball of fluff."
Shishi 's son lets out a "Gwah~!" as he's pulled out of the way by Mahri and he catches a glimpse of the foxes bounding out of the hole. The noise from the boy finally coaxes Blue's gaze in that direction just in time to see the small animals hopping out of the log and perhaps fall in love with one of them.
Grae was suddenly a flash and blur of movement as he leapt forth with all the suddeness of a summer's storm. He was not attaching but rather lunging towards the tiny little creatures with intense determination to possess one of them. And so he would interject into the crowd only to pluck one of the little foxes up from the batch and then make his way towards an eastward direction. Of course, amidst the escaping portion of his caper, the sounds of wooshing flaming and a hiss of pain would be heard...and then Grae was gone.
Satoshi was in the middle of trying to count the little furballs when one's abducted by Grae, leaving the feline grumbling and re-counting. "Six... Seven..." And then, as if to further frustrate the cat, one of the kits yips and bolts off in the direction Grae had gone, giving chase to the thief of its sibling. He'll probably end up at sea. With a pirate. Maybe. Anywho~. "That leaves six, then. What -are- they?" The magus muses, kneeling down to lightly poke at one coated in snowflakes. And receive a bite from tiny fangs for the trouble.
Kasyr coughs quietly. Although, it sounds miraculously akin to, "Kit-napped." But that'd obviously be a total coincidence. Either way, once the hybrids brief coughing fit is done, he simply meanders over towards Satoshi, if only to peer at the little things. "...I wonder where the mother and father es? With kids like these...that might actually be entertaining. "
Shishi squints down at one of the foxes that had run directly into his leg. Gently the vampire nudges it with one of his feet, trying to shoo it away, which only earns the assassin a set of teeth into his pant leg, Shishi now dragging the excitable fox around with every movement his leg makes, "Sheesh..."
Mahri opens her eyes to find a cold nose pressed to her own and huge gold eyes staring down at her. Dark brown fur with tuffts of green poking out here and there bristle until the lycan wraps her fingers around the kit to lift it off her chest. "Here now..what are you supposed t'be?" Brow furrowed, she sits up only to drop the kit when needle sharp teeth sink into her thumb. "Why you little..!" Whatever else was said is lost when bleeding digit is jambed into her mouth to be sucked clean. Said fur-ball takes off into the forest, closely persued by Mahri. For revenge or out of concern for the little vixen's safety has not yet been decided.
Portea kneels down as one of the little fur-balls draws closer, this one having a faint purplish tint/aura. "Strange little thin-..." The psion blinks as the fox-kit pounces, clearly attempting to get his face, yet falling short and landing in his lap instead.
Rawnie releases a growl of sorts before taking off after one of the kits that's remarkably normal looking compared to it's brethren. Perhaps it's the feral, wolfish side of Rawnie that loves to give chase, or perhaps its the desire to own it for herself- whatever the means for her pursuit is left untold for Rawnie's RP must dilly-dally no longer and get ready for work!
Satoshi is eventually released from the frosty maw of the blue and white kit, by means of showing it just how cold -she- could get. Whimpering, the kit goes for an alternate method of introduction, cozying up to the feline in hopes of being found too cute to be made into an icecube. The ploy works, if only because Satoshi's well-trained in the art and respects any also skilled in it. "I don't know about you, but any sane mother or father would have high-tailed it ages ago." Patting the fox, she's rewarded with a pleased chirrup in answer.
Kasyr shrugs, before promptly scooping up the now very solitary and less-than-happy looking kit, "Well then, Sparky.. Far from moi to leave tu stranded when you're so interesting." Unforunately, whilst the static emitting fox looks all too pleased to be scooped up and brought close to it's sibling- ...It also seems to produce more sparks when excited. "...Ow." And of course, insult to injury, the reflexive jerk that comes from the tiefling prompts the little fox to gnaw on the hybrids hands. ..The tiefling at least gets the last laugh, what with it struggling against his gloves half the time. "..Runt."
Satoshi said to Kasyr, "Yeah. Lightning hurts, huh?"
Kasyr said to Satoshi, "...Good point... House training made easy!"
