I feel like it's been far too long since this had been updated so I'm going to try and fix that. After a discussion (which may have been heated, on my end) with Faye I am now under the impression that there might be players -genuine, honest to gosh GOOD players- that have been away or simply unable to get back into the swing of things. I'm going to try and give a quick, short summary to explain the plots that I'm aware of. Feel free to ADD YOUR OWN, update my own version of the events, or simply correct me.
Also, this would be a good spot to mention YOUR current ideas and recruit Cabal and non-Cabal to help you progress your storyline. It's why we're all here, after all!
VAILKRIN: As always, the undead city is under construction both by the Adminstrative team and the players. It's being expanded. Recently Ginger has taken the reins as far as leadership goes but that is likely to change, given the Cabal's return. What do you guys think? How should we persue this?
GUALON: Tristram still leads this city in case some weren't aware. Recently, he's lost the aide of Jacobo (his partner in crime) and is trying to gather his wits once more. With Solaris (SHAELUS) looking to recruit the dragons and Tristram's refusal to join the brood, Gualon may soon come under fire. Helich plans to invade and may do so soon. Should the Cabal be in alliance with them? Against? Is there a way to provide aide and gain the upper hand?
RYNVALE: That place is always hogging the spotlight. Several wars have begun and ended in the name of the isle. As it stands is the Cabal allied with the Empire as led by Ryeanna? Or are their purposes better with the Fold and Arien? What are your thoughts on this place and where this RP should head?
ASSASINS GUILD: To be honest, I never really took an interest or get involved with the Guild idea, but this one is led by Satoshi and promises exciting RP. We need to help build this up, get the wheels really in motion. What are suggestions to further this?
SOLARIS: Though he's not quite the Dread Lord he once was, he's still an iconic character in the History of Hollow. What sort of future will we have as far as this goes? Friend or foe?
CABAL PLOTS: The HQ is being redone, the Pool is being brought back, and the Clan is once more on the roam. How has this changed your character? At what level of involvement would you like to have/currently have in the Pool? HQ? Ideas, suggestions? Would love to hear!
THE EYRIE: This has been a plot long in the making and still continues to this day. Recruiting is still on-going and the RP is really taking off. Would you like for your character to be involved? In what aspect? Ideas of riders/beasts to be included? Talk to Portea about it today, too!

Excellent thread, Terra. *been away so long the sky looks like ground* Though I'm not back for goods, I'll be helping out with HQ centric plots for any probable doomsday scenarios. ooc - mm, I think it might be a good idea to build a few more npc sort Cabal members. I might have use for those.

This is Jolie, using the forum's main admin acct. Good thread, Ter. Here's the current take on things, from my POV. VAILKRIN: Jolie is negotiating to have Cabal control Vailkrin proper, Ginger have the Necropolis, and the revived Pack hold the Forest, under Mahri (who learned a lot from last effort). A letter was sent icly to Kasyr, with this in mind. Meantime, Ginger pops into the Corpse, insults all present, announces she's eavesdropping, and skulks off moodily when the response is less than flowery. Possibly this indicates negotiations won't be so easy. Dunno, yet.Thoughts: Necropolis I'm really keen to get the Necropolis moving as a place for the Undead to hang out ("live" seems not the right word ) and sort of have some kind of society/governing body/major RP of their own rather than being so random and stuff. Might encourage more undeads, as a race, and play concerning necromancers, etc. It'd be cool to have a few Undead players chime in on this. Also, maybe Ryeanna would be keen help this out, Lichness and all. Thoughts: Vailkrin .. chyeah. Poor old Vailkrin. I think it's not unfeasible for this to be under Cabal rule for a little while. I don't think this HAS to be a permanent thing, maybe just sort of encouraging more RP there pending admin fixing stuff and someone decent stepping up to RP that caters to more than their own need to feel speshul on the internets. But in any case, I'd like us to hang on to the Corpse. THE CORPSE: We're gonna throw a big party soon. Biiiig. Lots of entertainment. Fights. Dancers. Gambling. I'd reallly like all hands on deck for this, and a heap of other players involved. It'll be one hell of a night. We need to get the upstairs functioning. GUALON: Our HQ is there, or close enough. More than enough reason for Cabal to want the land nearby to stay in (relatively) friendly hands. Negotiations are entirely possible. Plus, a little war is good for the soul.Really, I can very much see Jolie having more sympathy for Tristram. Even if she doesn't like him all that much. RYNVALE: Chyeah.I personally feel, as far as the war goes: hand me a ten-foot pole. Clanwise: Cabal as a clan are allied with nobody in particular there, but are rather benefiting from dealings with both sides. How individual members choose to align themselves is their business, but don't expect to rally Cabal behind you either way. The official Cabal stance is.. less than partisan. COVE: Leo has control of the cove, and the Fold are quite aware that Arien's/their rule does not extend to that portion of the island. I'd love to get more clan rp going out there. Maybe Leo can add more to this, concerning Cabal's and his own RP there. ASSASINS GUILD: Sounds fun. If I can help out, in any way, you guys let me know. SOLARIS: Dunno? Input/info welcome from those who have it. CABAL PLOTS: Yeah, lots going on. Lots. I'ma put a thread up with detailed current clan RP, in the Cabal-Only board though (since we all know how some people love to use ooc info where they should not).I will make a post here for Cabal plots open to the general player base, later. THE EYRIE: Awesome RP. Good work, Portea and crew, I'm SO proud of you guys for keeping this going. Anything you need, lemme know.

The Borrowers -- Our "body swap" RP.
Leo has suggested we use his topaz-eyed tiki-doll (yes, he has a doll, long story) as the trigger for this event, which is a great idea as it's lil cursed self has been involved in like RP.
Sounds really good to me. We might gather folks interested in this out in the cove, mebbe take em on the ship.
Also, we should dice-roll for who gets whose body, for the first swap, with the proviso that that at least a few hours RP goes into that.
Then it's a free-for-all for the day to follow.
OH - Leo also suggested we choose pets that we think suits the personality of who we're "borrowing" so we can label who is who thus:
Jolie is here, with a colourful parrot named Kasyr
>: )
and so on. Thoughts?

The Body-Swap rp sounds absolutely hilarious. What d'you mean by "dice-roll" for who gets who, though? I'm just a little confused.
PS: I love the pet idea, too.

Re dice roll: Someone (I vote Leo...) rolls a dice to decide by random chance who gets to swap with who for the first bit of the RP.
Just a way to mix it up a bit, Cabal-style.

Edit: (Jolie beat me to the dice roll explanation)
So would we be playing as our character's body possessed by someone else or our character in someone else's body? I've been assuming it's the latter.

Yup, latter -- we play our own charry, trapped in the body of another.
The pets will let others know ooc who's playing what body.

Hey all, First I'd like to say; I hate my computer. I just posted a reply and then it shut down and now I have to write it all over again. I might leave things out but I guess that is what other replies are for, to explain things... Also I'm very excited about the body switching thing. Now as to my true reason for writing this...For those who don't know, I've been letting Senks dwell at the Seemingly Abandoned Manse. Basically it's a big haunted house that I want to truly bring to life. Most likely enchanted but I haven't been managing to write out a lot of the backstory, writing alone. It's basically a two or three story big-ass house with a huge garden to come with it, probalby belonged to some rich vampires at some point. The garden is filled with zombies who like to crawl out of the earth to cause chaos. As a rule though they stay away from the house. Not even the porch is entered willingly by said zombies, as the house it the playground of the ghosties. Up until now the manse has only been occupied by creepy child ghosts, but I'm thinking that if more will get involved other ghosts will appear. One of the ideas I have for this place is to have several ghosts in there being trapped, ghosts from the pasts of characters who entered who will either need to be set free or avoided as they try to kill/maim/hurt/trouble the chars to which they belong. Basically I want to make this house come alive as we've made the hanging corpse come to life. Or you guys did, anyway... Besides the fact that I take a great personal pleasure out of this (currently Senks is being driven mad by two child-ghosts and a third is most likely on its way) I really think it ought to be a fun playground for everyone. We can set up magic mirrors that show their greatest fears, or have big closets that want to eat you so that the clothes inside it can strangle you. And other critters like that Basically a big scary house. That's the idea. And I figured this threat would be a fun place to send a big invitation to come and rp with me Because the ghosties like to "play" ...and so does Senks. Thoughts anyone?

I like it, Senks! That's something I'd really be interested in rp'ing. Just my cup of tea.
The body swapping rp-- that sounds like a giant bucket of fun. I want in on that! And yes, I'll be attempting to make more appearances on Hollow to get the old juices rolling again. I'm thinking of having Traye join the assassin's guild as he's gotten far too soft for his own good. He also needs to keep busy. Personally, I've been toying with the idea of the 'crazy' surfacing more often in Jaidin, so that's something for people rp'ing with me to look out for. Don't worry, it's rarely dangerous to your health. Lol.
As for all the land territory and everything, while I have my own opinions, I know my character couldn't give a rat's arse. As long as it's Cabal-ruled or an ally of ours, he's tolerant. But he walks to his own beat. One pertaining to Traye directly would be this undead idea of Jolie's. I'm sorry, but I can't see him hanging out with a bunch of other undead. So I can't help bring this idea to fruition.

Mentioning the Assassin's Guild up there by Terra... I have plans to give it some extra attention very soon. It's next to impossible to get people willing to let our assassin's off their characters (even when switching/quitting), so I've decided to try a different route to keep RP alive. Anyone who is willing to play an NPC with a price on their head, please let me know. You don't necessarily need to even have the NPC offed. The guild caters to rogues in general, including spies, con artists, thieves, and information brokers. If need be, I'll NPC various targets for the guild members to go after/spy on/etc, but I think it'd be far more fun and varied if I could get multiple people in on this especially if I work up a way to tie in a bunch of this little RPs into each other. Rewards for successful missions are going to be paid from my own pockets, since the guild funds when given to me... consisted of 5k. >.> Impoverished guild is impoverished. But yeah, Assassin Guild RPs will be coming up, once I've got word back on my Frostmaw Arc from the admins (approval waits suuuuuck) and a few current RPs settled and taken care of. Come join us~, or let us kill you (both are fun, I promise). And ideas are always welcome! I want to bring this neglected guild back to life before Satoshi ICly steps down from her role (although the persona of 'Jelko' shall continue on with her successor, hopefully from leader to leader as a way of keeping reputation up). So, feel free to toss hmails and the like at me, as for the next few days Sato is going to be MIA and presumed dead, along with Kas, thus I'll have next to nothing to do ICly and too much time to kill. Thanks~. <3 /rambles EDIT: *resume ramble* Sade just reminded me. >.> I have to check and see what the exact rules are on NPCing, because I really don'y want any volunteers getting into possible trouble for 'alting', as it's been dubbed that before. I'll figure out a way around it. These RPs should be starting up in a couple weeks though, so there is still time. Anyone with info/ideas, I'm listening~. :3

If I remember correctly, you can NPC as long as you're playing your own character. You can't really do the /:: So and so...... thing anymore. That is, play another character while signed in as your own. If it were something like
/ watched while so-and-so .....
Make sense? I know, it's a bit confusing but I think at least half your post has to be what your character is doing while the secondary npc is getting their arse kicked or something like that.
Now, I would be glad to npc a mark/target/whatever if you needed someone to.

Now, I would be glad to npc a mark/target/whatever if you needed someone to. As I understood it, all actions of other characters (incl. NPC's) need to be through the SENSES of your own personal character. Jaidin watched from a shadowy corridor as Noshkja flounced in that frilly dress of hers, distracting the guard standing post at the door. Her musical giggles hid the sound of his own steps toward the Guard's back. She was a wonderful actress-- eyes didn't even widen as Traye's blade slit the poor man's throat. ^ So I could RP as Noshkja, but would need to smell her, see her, hear her, touch her. Any thoughts/insight into her mind would have to be "Wondered aloud" so Jaidin could hear them and learn what she was thinking and feeling (beyond basic facial expressions, which aren't done all too much when one thinks they are alone).

Or you could just go with the Shishi method and ignore what everyone says and play with your NPCs however the hell you want...

I posted this a little bit ago to try and address the RP that was currently happening in Hollow... now it's being updated in the effort of rejuvinating the clan itself & Hollow's RP.
Yes, as a clan we're faced with some restrictions (admin approval, members crazy times, etc) but it's not excuse for us not to get something rolling. Lately, and I'm very guilty of this, it feels like the Cabal has not been very active. I may just be unaware of everything going down but there hasn't been any of those RPs that we were famous for. In light of this I've suggested that we start coming up with more ideas, start putting plans in action, furthering the RPs of the clan, the members, and everyone who plays the game who is influenced in a positive manner by our group.
Please post YOUR IDEAS and I will try and get in contact with you to find the best way to start it or to be involved or anything that you need.
I can't wait to get involved and I'm sure everyone else feels the same way!

Well, even though it doesn't look like this thread has had much use lately it is definitely the best place to post this, and I feel like I need to get the word out so that more people can get involved with my rps.
I have recently, after a suggestion from Jolie, been gathering the mages that move through Vailkrin to set up a sort of school, which will preferably specialize in necromancy and dark arts. We are using the library beneath the Necropolis as a center for activities (not sure if we ever got the final okay about using it from Ginger, but Redhale's been attending it anyway.)
Problem is, we haven't got enough undead types to make the institute a uniquely Vailkrin thing, not to say other kinds of mages aren't welcome. We do have a few interested parties, including students of Redhale's and a few like minded mages, but with a little more support I think there is opportunity for a lot of fun rps, as well as the development of an organization which could be of use to the cabal.
So, if your character is a mage of any sort, or if you have a job for our schooled lot, get in touch!
