I logged in today and realized why I've been limiting my time on this game. Some people can be down-right jerks and be alright with it. Anyhow, my point, the constant drama on the OOC. Normally I try to avoid it or shut everything up, but the conversation today involved one of the players revealing another person's previous character. I thought that was one of the most arsehole things to do. Player A purposely stated the name of (what he thought to be) Player B's last character. I'm fairly certain that on the rules that you agree to when you log in, you do NOT give out another player's personal information, especially without permisson from that player or any of the people involved. How did this arguement begin in the first place? Player A wasn't able to tell the diffrence between IC/OOC and when that was pointed out to him, along with his rule breaking (which soon earn a muting, imo) he proceeded to snap at me as if I had been the person at fault. I couldn't care less for the drama/fight between the two as I find it all immature, but .... to disregard another indivuals privacy in such an obvious way... That makes me so mad!
In short, I'd advise players AGAINST revealing another's PERSONAL information. It's that way for a reason. This includes giving out an OOC name, past character's name, Messenger contact info, or any other information such as telephone number, address, or location. Unless this information has been revealed by the player to a specified person, or they have no qualms with revealing it.
Maybe I was wrong in getting into that arguement, even if it was to show Player A the error of his ways. I honestly don't care about that. I just don't think it's right, in any shape or fashion. Do you?
