KELAY TAVERN
-------------------------
Kasyr was a veritable mess. That normally exuberant demeanour was gone, instead replaced by temporal facets of amusement now obscured by the weight of what he knew, and what he had to do. The hybrid, quite frankly, looked like crap. His footsteps would sound that much more heavy as he'd drag himself into the tavern, shoulders hunched and trenchcoat drawn about him as a shroud. What's more, gloved hands seemed almost frantic in their movements, a sort of redundant attempt at keeping his hair in a tight ponytail- a nervous tic of sorts to keep him busy as he'd weave a path through the taverm, to collapse in a seat near the midst of things. Hell, it was all starting to sink in that much more, to what was left on his plate.
Kraw glances at Kasyr idly 'sif just noticing the Tiefling. He spoke for no openly determinable reason, "You look like hell."
Ariston said to Kraw, "I see you've less a spine than you before posed with, nothing more."
Jacklin shifts in her chair while listening to the boorish exchange coming to a close. Shoulders beginning to slump unhappily whilst a perfunctory gaze trails back to the empty glass on her table. A beyond thrilling image of overflowing whisky filling her mind.
Ariston he turns his attentions from the dragon, towards the focus of Jacklin smiling. " The time is nearing..."
Kraw said to Ariston, "That is not true. Do not poke at my emotions Avian. You will find them quite hidden."
Ariston said to Kraw, "And you will find all of mine a great act, no more."
Thorondor rose from his seat in a fluid single motion, and a snap of dark fabric precipitated his feral stride southward, away from the verbally fueding creatures of the air.
Jacklin drums her fingers against her table, a fidgety response, "And yet I still have learned nothing of your kind. You promised me I would."
Ariston said to Jacklin, "Half the fun dear lady, half the fun..."
Jacklin said to Ariston, "Then tell me what I need to know."
Ariston said to Jacklin, "I have..."
Ciadra enters the tavern quietly and makes her way to the board. Her dark eyes roam gently over the posts there and once she is finished she turns around, scanning the tavern for any recognizable faces.
Kasyr looks up, if only to affix a particularily haggard expression upon the Kraw. Eyes of a amber and somewhat sanguine tainted hue would practically attempt to bore a hole through the dragons head by sheer virtue of intensity, before the hybrid simply droops his head down again, to rest the side of it upon an open palm with a sigh. "...Thank tu for stating the obvious. Perhaps your wisdom might be better put to use on ascertaining the colour of the sky, oui?"
Kraw said to Ariston, "Someone should really teach you some manners. You remind me of a sick puppet, the strings pulled this way and that by a healthy man."
Ariston said to Kraw, "It must be a horrid blow you your mental stability that I exist of my own free will then, eh... winged lizard?"
Kraw also spares Kasyr a moment of his time. By this point though his gaze barely shifted from the Avian. Anger was an emotion building, perhaps this eve he would prove the Avian right --- but composure rang through even to the tone of his voice.
Ciadra notes that there is mere idiots running amuck in the tavern and opts for sitting alone by a window.
Jacklin eyes the avian dumbly, how was she supposed to figure out what he wanted. Bluntness was the key she guessed as she was never an extraordinary conversationalist herself, "You do that then. When ya need me I will be sitting here. Nothing to discuss until that time."
Kraw said to Kasyr, "You know I've come to understand it's-------" More silence ensued. Winged. Lizard. Kasyr was a faint memory the moment those words left the Avians mouth. Winged. Lizard. Winged. Each fist clenched tightly at his sides, a goad, a prod, that left him a wounded cattle -heading to slaughter perhaps. "You've no right to refer to me as a lizard, for you yourself look like a rat with cotton wings sewn on. A freakish spell gone wrong." Now his tone had changed. Emotion entered into every syllable, every accent was anger.
Ariston said to Jacklin, "You are dense? Is is so hard to understand that you will be used to fuel the rebirth of a great city?"
Kasyr abruptly collapses face forward onto the table, a heavy sigh of exasperation ringing out loud & clear, "Goddess be Damned. There es a suitcase et a down coat arguing. What es it with this day?" Bemoaning the sad fate of what he'd been stuck in by sheer lack of desire to move, the hybrid only barely notices Ciadra- a sort of unenthused wave sent her way.
Ariston seems only more excited, a look is given back to the form of Kraw, the smile of a crazed lunatic ensues. " Better a rat with wings, than a newt... or salamander... " It is however a last moment gesture that the avian refers to a rather old, almost retired insult. The biting of his thumb, rather pointedly.
Ciadra stretches out her long legs in front of her, however hidden they are by her dress.
Jacklin said to Ariston, "Dense? Amazing observation on your part, rat. I guess I am dense seeing as I could care less for your words. Unless you want to offer some direct instructions. If not, I'd rather go and play with my army in Venturil. More fun then this talk would ever be."
Ariston said to Jacklin, "Oh indeed, Nothing like having an army to fawn over you... You and your emotions, they amuse me so..."
Ciadra waves back at Kasyr with an equal amount of enthusiasim he sent her way.
Jacklin said to Ariston, "Eh, not much fawning going on really. Not as much as I would like anyway. Maybe you'd like to fawn over me?"
Ariston said to Jacklin, "That would take both attention, and emotion... Both, games I care little for."
Kraw snares in his hands air when palm is open, and the air itself seems to thicken in just that particular area. Shimmer, glimmer, simmer, however you wish to describe it -- it was heated. Only over his palms, yet anger was about in the two languages he spoke. Body, and vocal. "You sicken me. You want a fight? A fight? I'll tear those precious things off your back rat!" Honestly. The Dragon was a bit off tonight, enough to even allow anger to consume when when She had beset a task on him. But rage was rage, emotion, how right the Avian was. The table which he had sat at, well, it turned into no more than a child's toy when the Dragon bounded to his feet -flying fast. Toward, unfortunately, Kasyr. An unusual turn of events that went unnoticed for the male rounded on Ariston quickly. In the process the hood hiding his face slid back to reveal an aged face of forty, fifty, it seemed it could be either -changing oddly here and there. "You live for the fight? You want death? You --- seek to end my kind? Thousands of years of work?" How soon. How soon blood would be spilled.
Ciadra contemplates locking everyone in the tavern and setting it ablaze...
Jacklin said to Ariston, "I think eventually you will change you mind."
Kasyr let altogether dimmer than normal eyes skirt over towards the sound of fury and scraping wood- an action that would altogether save him from the fate -accidentally- set into motion for him. The tiefling simply slumped, that drained demeanour tapped into of a sorts, to the point that he simply slumped from his chair, coming to land upon the ground on hands and feet. The table which had been hucked towards his general vicinity would clatter violently into the spot he'd formerly occupied, and the hybrid would simply slink back to his feet from there, a smooth transition back to that same slouch he'd held before- one which in tandem with walking would bring him to sit over near Ciadra. From there, he'd simply address her with a world-weary monotone, "Been a while." Apparently, Wark and Ariston didn't warrant the effort of interference.
Ciadra glances over to Kasyr and offers him a simple smile, "Indeed it has, Kasyr." She notices his slumping shoulders and uncharacteristic behavior and tilts her head to the side, eyes curiously searching his face for some answers, "Kasyr...is everything alright? You do not seem yourself."
Kasyr anxiously brings his hands up to his hair, sweeping back through strands until fingers were resting upon the ponytail he was using to keep it all in 'relative' order, tugging upon it fixedly over and over again. "...My city. It's still in pieces. Et whats there might be scattered to more. And she left. Joliettes gone again- et left moi in her place." He was mumbling, seemingly absorbed in his own world, Ciadra the sole thing that he was actually heeding at this place, at this moment.
Ariston is granted his victory with so sweet an arguing voice. The form of the dragon, his age, matters little, for it is the speed and more or less the travel of the enraged male that interests the other. The young avian, unlike the majority of his counterparts does not burst into flight and hide, nor does he reach for the slender blade upon his hip. A pad appears in hand, paper sifted neatly to find the perfect picture needed, it is something of a joke really, a way to show the dragon the very true difference between the 'emotion-filled' and the emotionless. The quiet is numbing to the odd artist, he manages to ignore the clamor of chairs and the crashing of drinks, tuning all out for the singly void he requires. The power billows from his core and overflows, a rush of cool energy that bursts into life a creature of ill fate. Diiroehn, his curling deathly features a tangible copy brought to life feet before the illusionist, his skeletal hands a curling mire of magic, given power by the moment in which the artwork was made. The 'touch of death' an effect that if real would suck the very life and will from the opponent in this case is no more than a ploy, the touch, of those dark fingers intending not to kill Kraw but rather to steal the dragon with it back to the realm composed upon the paper; forcing him into a helpless state in which there is little hope. The voice that flows towards the ears of the enraged creature is triumphant, the crooning of a whore upon the street, the sweet voice of a lover to the bed, and if Kraw were to give in too much... perhaps even 'her'. 'Come to me...' The tangible illusion in set, Ariston is but the rolling figure, a shadow evading the impending destruction.
Ciadra furrows her brow as she reaches out to grab a hold of Kasyr's hands that threatened to undo his ponytail. "Your city? Kasyr, please focus..." The girl was worried about her friend, having never seen him act so..distant and out of sorts. Once more she tried to reach out to him, "Let me help you."
Kasyr halted quite abruptly when she grasped him, her fingers fortunately only coming into contact with the gloves that coated most of his hands. There'd be a still from there, his eyes wavering- pupils momentarily shrinking before they practically engulfed the whole of his Iris. More reaction than desire, he'd retract quite suddenly, hands pulled down to his lap, and simply staring across the table at her with the selfsame look as might a cornered animal, "Vailkrin...That one -es- mine...the other, may be disputed, I can't care for it right now. I have Cabal's City to care for. I have Cabal to care for! This..wasn't supposed to happen. It was Joliette's. I could follow her, I wasn't supposed to take her place, tu know?"
Ciadra gives Kasyr's hands a gentle squeeze before releasing them. "What can I do to help you...and Vailkrin? When did you obtain that? And who is this Joliettes?" She taps a finger to her chin as if contemplating something, "Do you need armies or supplies for your Cities? Does the Cabal need help? I remember promising you to help them if you needed me too...please Kasyr, let me help you. I do not like to see you so...not you."
Thea walks into the establishment obviously in search of someone specific. With an affirming nod upon spotting those she seeks, the pixie steps lightly over to both Zeltis and Eyren, handing each a small but weighty pouch, "Thank you both again for your aid earlier."
Eyren looks back at the queen of Enchantment pocketing the laden pouch. "Twas my pleasure to assist you, and feel free to call on me should you need anymore help. Have your wounds mended?"
Thea did look the worst for wear after the events of the eve, lace garter clinging loosely to an exposed thigh, thanks be to the torn material of her gown. Running a few fingers through her hair, she manages to withdraw them finding spider webbing still amidst the normally shiney curls, "Aye, the wound seems to be sealed well enough, though it is a bit sore." She inspects the woman, noting several scratches possibly lent from the dense briars, "What of you? All is well?"
Kasyr draws his hands up, fingers coming to the edge of the table, if only to erratically dance along the wood- displaying the ever present agitation of the tiefling, "It needs...fixing. Ruins, it's still ruins. I need people, builders. Rheven. I need to find him, aussi. There was something. Something that would need him." Frantically, his hands would come up, resuming their place in his hair, "Cabal...I have to protect the Cabal now, et it's all grown thin. Need more, need to find old et new. Then I need to find Joliette. Tenebrae. Need to find her. Again."
Thea turns sight to Zeltis as well, "And you, sir? You fought well back there. Is there anything you need tending to?"
Ariston said to Jacklin, "and why would I ever change my mind... You aren't so amusing as that..."
Eyren examines her arms littered with a few telltale scratches obtained in her crusade amongst the thick foliage of the forest. "Oh, aside from being spell sore, and a bit haunted by those highbred arachnids I'm doing fine though .. your lovely gown .. ruined, if only I was gifted with the seamstresses magics" she clucks her tongue and shakes her head. "Did you accomplish all you set out to do in any Case?"
Zeltis smiles as he lowers his gaze to the floor, placing his hands on hips. " I didn't do much really. Temper did most of the work, I just kept her in line. I only have minor cuts and scrapes from shifting around on her hard scales so much, but if you think they would be worth your time, then I shall allow you to tend to them. "
Revan said to Ariston, "You are the one that imprisoned the female dragon, Sarah? What is her current position?"
Ciadra runs long fingers through mused locks as she observes her friend, "I can provide workers. I will suspend the building of my city so they may aid you, Kasyr, in rebuilding your's. I cannot have my friend become so distraught. I do not know how I can help you with the Cabal, the members are unfamiliar to me."
Jacklin said to Ariston, "Not now, no. Right now I doubt I am any more amusing then the next bland person. Once you get to know me I'm sure that will change. You'll be surprised how much the urge to fawn over me will be. Or maybe you will think nothing of me still. Either way it goes I will still certainly spark some sort of interest."
Thea winks in response to Eyren's concern, "I've a seamstress, no worries. And aye, it seems well enough now so long as I can properly secure that southern border." The Druidess then moves to Zeltis' side, capable hands running along the torn flesh. A tinge of faintest blue eminates between the pixie's palms and the man, gliding effortlessly to reveal perfectly sutured spots where the abrasions previously held place.
Ariston said to Jacklin, "Doubtful... The beauty of one lacking true emotions... you see the flaws in other's reasoning..."
Ariston said to Revan, "Hopefully, at the bottom of some ravine, but if not.. chasing her fiance..."
Thea leans in with hushed words to Zeltis, viridian gaze lingering o'er the grumpy Mesthak..
Kasyr nods slowly, his pace of speech slowing to a slight degree, though it hardly sounded any less frenetic, "I can, I can live with this, Oui. If, when it's finished, I'll see about the people of Vailkrin, when they return, et all. I'm sure when the city es not broken- I could send some out to aid you. I..Said I would. if there was anything, in my power. I didn't expect this though. Didn't plan for this." There'd be a shaky breath taken in, an odd mannerism given his undead nature, and then he'd simply hold it.
Jacklin said to Ariston, "You could humor me at least. I've only a tiny stable of emotions myself. They don't range very far at all. I still think you will enjoy me being around, eventually. "
Thea smiles, delicate hand gently patting the man's arm before releasing it and placing her own hands around a much needed cup of coffee.
Eyren watches Thea as she set her hands to healing Zeltis, her eyes never missing a thing. Her lips pursed in wonderment, and she found herself leaning forward, her curiosity getting the better of her as she'd ask, "Tell me .. have you always known the art of ... healing mistress?"
Ariston said to Jacklin, "Much like one would enjoy the company of the rather aggrivating little wench of a dragonette I assume.. That marriage is doomed, they are merely trying to prove they are grown up, making them all the more childish."
Denth listens to Ariston and continues his thoughts about the avians and their supposedly 'better' race.
Ciadra motions Nancy over and politely requests some tea to bring to the table. Once she has left, the Queen turns her dark gaze to the man before her and shakes her head, "No- my city can wait, Kasyr. I wish all help to be on your's at the moment until everything is under control." She nods affirmatively and thanks Nancy as she comes back with the tea, placing it between them, "Have some tea, Kasyr. It will calm your nerves."
Ciadra gave 1 peppermint tea to Kasyr.
Jacklin said to Ariston, "Erm, I'm not entirely sure that is how it will be. Since I am not a giant lizard-thing but more of a small human. Who might you be speaking of?"
Ariston said to Jacklin, "No one of importance any longer... And.. *he sobers, glancing at her* What is there to gain from becoming attached to a human? You all die too easily, and too quickly..."
Thea had paused from her sipping to regard Eyren with a quizzical stare, "You know, I believe I must have been very young when I learned as I do not recall exactly what my age was." Thea had in fact always known magick. It was in her blood, coming from a long line of those skilled in the arts. A thoughtful glance now replaced the former puzzled expression to the woman, "You seem quite interested. Tell me, have you thought of apprenticing under a mage or druid?"
Jacklin said to Ariston, "Not I. This human has been here for an extremely long time and not in hiding either. I've plenty of nice marks to back that statement up. Came here as a young girl and now I'm middle-aged woman. I'd be a nice speaking companion if nothing else. You need not saddle yourself with me if ya don't wish to, doesn't matter to me."
Eyren sits back once more, her hands clasped loosely in her lap, her gaze fixed upon the pixie. "Yes, I've always held an interest in the art of healing, for never have I sought to fine tune the destructive powers originally taught to me by my Apa father. No, healing, as I just witnessed you performing naught but a few minutes ago, that has always been the call of my heart."
Kasyr slowly moves his hands forth to collect that offered tea, a minute word of thanks uttered as he let himself fall into a lull. His eyes would go glassy, his expression falling distant, and a secondary mumble of "Merci" would follow, as he simply took to sipping at the Tea.
Ciadra offers Kasyr a sympathetic look as she too takes her cup of tea and begins to sip slowly, "You are welcome, Kasyr. I will post notice immediately for all workers to aid Vailkrin in being rebuilt. If there is anything else I can do, please do not hesitate to ask."
Thea delivers an understanding smile to Eyren, sincerity in her tone, "Then you should follow that calling." Thea relaxes her posture, spanse of wing spreading to accomodate the motion as the Druidess takes on a more serious mien, "However, as with anything in nature..there is an opposing reaction. As you cannot have light without dark, you cannot heal without pain." The pixie brings the cup to sip before continuing, "What I mean to say, dear..is that to be a healer, one must possess the mixed blessing of true empathy. You must allow yourself to feel another's pain before you can begin the process of nurturing it. Do you understand?"
Ariston said to Jacklin, "The baggage, and the stories, I can do without..."
Jacklin looks down at herself morosely, the baggage was there alright.
Eyren takes on a countenance of grave solemnity, her voice low and hesitant as she speaks, "Yes, Yes I believe I do. I was once ... a creature of the night, I took from those, that which I had no right to take" a hand would unconsciously rise then to touch absently at her mouth, free now of the fangs that had given testament to her monstrous state. "It was only after I took life from a child thatI can say that I fully grasped the concept of which you speak. Such, … unrelenting guilt, such unadulterated shame I have never felt. I had long since thought myself immune to such emotion, but the face of that child haunted me for many nights following and at last I sought the aid of the goddess Daedria to have mercy on my conscious. To aid me in righting that wrong” she sets a hand to her wrist then, then rests it briefly upon her heart; the shadow of a smile chasing its way over her tortured features, “She set me to rights, she returned life to me, she instructed that I not waste the second chance that I’d been given.”
Kasyr gently places down the cup of tea, a long breath taken in, before one hand simply would come to rest over it. "I won't forget the offer, Madamoiselle. I... simply..pray that I don't have to tax tu any longer, that..I don't need to take you up on that offer. I don't..intend to be a burden. I can't afford to be." Sighing, his hands would simply swirl in place, to hoist up the cup anew, before he simply moved on to sipping again. "How..have things been. I pray they've been less taxing..then this. I know a tragedy has struck tu...recently."
Ciadra smiles and shakes her head to Kasyr as she replies back warmly, "My dear you are a friend. You are never a burden and this is not taxing at all. I am willing to help and aid you in any way, just as you have aided me in the past." She gets up and walks the short distance to the board, placing a note upon it's littered surface before returning to her seat beside her worn friend. "The notice is up for all to assist Vailkrin." Another smile is sent his way before she answers his last bit of questions, "As for me, well...times have been hard, but I'm okay. Do not worry yourself on any matters concerning me, my dear friend."
Jacklin took a cup of tea from the vast amount that had been set aside for whoever wanted some. Jacklin took a cup retiringly and with a voracious thirst swallowed the contents in seconds. Just as lips were pressed together for lingering taste acquirement the human threw the cup across the Tavern, "This is not whisky at all."
Ciadra shoots a worried glance to Jacklin and suddenly smiles at her words, "My dear, I do not have whisky to offer, but perhaps a brandy, tequila, or a nice wine?"
Thea settles in repose, the information passed from the woman before her being mentally digested only to incite a hunger for more. A warm smile spreads on shimmering features and parts to speak, "My, but you are a rare creature indeed to have had such a blessing bestowed upon you. I must say that in my many, many years..I have never come across the likes of one such as yourself." Distant gaze is affixed to Eyren, steaming mug soon to be placed on the grainy tabletop, "We shall see to make this come to fruition, m'dear. I will personally find you a suitable tuitor, or I will simply help you myself to the best of my abilities."
Jacklin bends her attention to Ciadra questioningly, "Maybe what I drank will be good in the long run. Everyone seems to be enjoying their cups. And it burned my throat so it is probably good for me. Your other offers and kindly noted, Queen."
Delta said to Jacklin, "You must beacreful with the consumption of Peppermint. It can tire you out, and make a suggestion to your mind that you are drowsy."
Ciadra smiles fondly to Jacklin as she dips her head in acknowledgement, "Very well, my dear."
Kasyr looks a bit more relieved by this point, to a degree anyways. Agitation still remained, but he was at least able to lift up the cup and draw from it without any noticeable twitchs. Bit by bit, it would be drained, and once it was finished, yet another of the myriad that had been bought for the tavern was acquired, the hybrid starting upon that one as well. "I can't help, but ask. Offer. I said if I could, that I would help tu. If not now. Later. Oui." He'd exhale after that, before his focus would simply skirt over those present, now consciously taking in other faces. "Still, I wish you my fondest...that the trials you bare witness to...don't drown tu..you know?"
Jacklin said to Delta, "Is that what the stuff was, a peppermint?"
Ciadra turns her attention back to her friend before her as his words ring through to her ears, "Aye Kasyr. Thank you...and remember, your friendship will never be taxing or a burden to me, so if you ever need any assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to ask." She notes that he has finished off his tea and begins to offer another, "Another tea? Or perhaps something stronger?"
Thea smiles to Ciadra, motioning to the scattered cups, "May I?"
Eyren would smile faintly, a slight shrugging of the shoulders and another touch to the pulse at her wrist accompanies Thea’s statement; Eyren sharing somewhat in Thea’s wonderment. She had indeed been blessed, for having the curse of vampire removed from her, was the most treasured gift she’d ever been given. “Yes, I would forever be in your debt if you .. could perhaps … direct me to a .. tutor of sorts for I do so yearn to learn the art of healing.” She pauses for a breath; restless fingers tracing absently along the embroidery that hemmed her garment. “You surely would not have time to .. offer lessons what with a queen’s work never being quite done.” She laughs ruefully then, shaking her head.
Delta said to Jacklin, "Certainly. The scent gives it away."
Ciadra nods to the beautifully winged woman, "Yes, please m'dear. Help yourself."
Jacklin said to Delta, "I don't know much about peppermint. With the warning you gave I'll be sure to limit my drinking of it. I sure have little need for a reminder of fatigue."
Virote pokes the teacup Nancy had left on the table, wondering if this was another mass poisoning attempt ploy for human sacrifices.
Ciadra smiles to herself as her peppermint tea has become quite popular with tonight's crowd.
Delta said to Jacklin, "If you needed awakening, try Spearmint tea. But I'm not sure you can find that around."
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "If I may be so rude as to interject...peppermint is a soothing herb to calm the nerves and freshen ones mind. "
Thea takes up one of the cups offered and hands it to the young woman, a slight chuckle burbling through her response, "I believe I can make the time so long as you do not mind running into the occasional hybrid arachnid." The Druidess then scoots her chair a bit closer, roughly carved feet dragging o'er the floorboards as she motions into the cup, "Now this, a simple cup of tea to many..is also a healing property you see? The peppermint also has magickal properties. Every living plant can be useful in some way. This one in particular, when tinctured such as this, can prove beneficial as a purication substance for the body." Moving the cup towards Eyren in offer, the pixie grins mischeviously, "It's magickal purpose could be anything from a love spell, or protection.." she stops and gives a quick look about then leans in to whisper..
Delta said to Ciadra, "Yes, if taken in small amounts. But as they say to much of a good thing can be a bad thing."
Ciadra said to Delta, "Indeed you are correct, m'dear."
Jacklin said to Delta, "Spearmint tea you say? I'll go hunt that up one of these nights."
Jacklin said to Ciadra, "What other sorts of these 'teas' are out there? I'm truly fascinated by this burning liquid and what all it can do now. Are you possibly an expert in that field? The field of tea I mean."
Kasyr slowly shakes his head, simply nursing the cup of tea he still held with an almost ethereal smile, "I'm fine. for the moment, Cherie. This works well enough, et won't dull my wits...not anymore than they are.." Offering a weak grin, he'd simply take a moment to focus upon the Storm queens particular persona of interest at the moment, Jacklin eyed with a distinctive sort of curiosity, before the Cat-Eared Hybrid simply began to resume sipping, "I won't forget all of this, M'lady Ciadra"
Delta said to Ciadra, "*nods and smiles* I know a few things of sleep aids, for my nights are long and stressful. Being an inventor does that to you."
Eyren listens closely to everything spoken by the pixie; a look of rapt attention on her face as she closely examined the steaming cup of fragrant tea. Canting her head to the side at Thea’s whispered tidbit another smile would once more light her face as she fought down a small bubble of laughter that threatened to break forth; her gaze alighting for a moment upon the males currently present. “Hmmm indeed, there is much more than apparently meets the eye to .. a simple cup of tea? I shall keep this in mind, if I should ever be offered such from a stranger.”
Thea broke attentions with Eyren long enough to offer a polite nod of head in Xarden's direction, "Evening, Xarden."
Jacklin sniffed, lifting her chin up to Kasyr heedfully, "I see you're drinking the tea. It’s a most soothing drink I hear."
Xarden nods in return to Thea, "Mornin'."
Thea turns a wry grin to Eyren, "Indeed. Recognizing herbs and their possible mixtures can prove quite useful when you frequent with those who cloak themselves in sunshine only to be found in the shadows." Ebon lashes fall to a glittery cheek, her wink suggesting the woman already understood what she was making light of.
Delta picked up 1 peppermint tea.
Kasyr offers a simple look back, one hand moving to cup over the glass as his other held it up. "With the way my nerves are going, I need it. Heh." A pause, and then he'd sigh, peeking down at the nearly empty cup, "It does help, a bit. a bit." Still, he'd fall relatively silent after that, her addressal simply resulting in a slightly more fixed stare. She seemed ...familiar. Something that had been told to him. And something else witnessed.
Xarden has shifty eyes.
Ciadra said to Kasyr, "Very well Kasyr. I'm glad to see you have calmed down. Remember, I am only a hop, skip, and jump away if you need anything."
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "Oh, I'm terribly sorry, dear..but unfortunately I do not know much about teas except what taste good. I will track someone down that could help you, of course that is if you are willing to really find out about this. I would love to help you."
Kasyr said to Ciadra, "Not to far at all. Oh. I've seen, how your city was coming along, et all. I..might end up drifting by again, sometime soon."
Thea points to the elf that has just addressed her, "Take him, for instance. He has to be one of the shadiest characters I know and love." The pixie grins to Xarden and motions for him to join her table with Eyren. "Have you two been acquainted?"
Ciadra said to Delta, "An inventor you say? Truly fascinating! Please, tell me more of what you invent! Tell me about your inventions! I am eager to learn."
Xarden just blinks. He hasnt been invited to the table of Thea since... ever. No hesitation is taken, however, as the elf is at her table even before she finishes her sentence.
Eyren turns then her gazing following the pointing finger of Thea. "Oh my" she murmurs catching sight of the man's 'shifty' eyes "yes that one does have a .. shady look about him. It mirrors that of the trader most often found in the square to the west of this establishment."
Delta said to Ciadra, "I make Tricks. Odd items that sound silly, but can have great effects on the surroundings. I have also solidified Laughter into a material I call Laughtium, but that is a secret how I do it. Would you like to sample one?"
Jacklin gestures uncertainly to the dwindling cups the Queen had supplied, "I have nerves that no peppermint can address. Tuck them neatly aside and enjoy the slight sensation of relaxation it gives you." The human looks to the empty glass she'd catapulted across the room in a burst of unsettlement and then back to the stranger who seemed so very wrecked this evening, "If only for a bit. That's why it's tea."
Jacklin said to Ciadra, "Tasting is a good thing. If you're willing to supply me something good then I have no reason to deny it. Any teas you think I'd enjoy then you just send them this way. I'll trust what you like."
Ciadra said to Kasyr, "I would love for you to come visit. Perhaps you can stay with me in the castle? I would love a visitor!"
Xarden nods to Eyren, "Hello."
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "A marvelous idea, m'dear! We shall become tea experts in no time."
Delta said to Ciadra, "Ever try villian tea? It is different then most teas i have had."
Jacklin said to Ciadra, "Brilliant idea! We can set up a little stand for residents walking along the road that need an expertly chosen tea for comfort."
Eyren nods politely to the newly arrived elf; his ears a testament to his race. "Hello" she murmurs, her eyes flickering from Thea then back to the yet unidentified man.
Thea chuckles at Eyren's assessment, her nod affirming it to be spot on. Keeping with her usual mannerly self, Thea offers Xarden a grin and a seat, "Eyren, meet Xarden. Perhaps the 'shiftiest' elf in the lands. Xarden, this lovely young woman is Eyren. Behave."
Ciadra said to Delta, "Genius- simply genius! You truly are an assest to Hollow's minds! solidified Laughter, you say? I would love to sample one! I am curious as to how you managed to do these things!"
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "Between the two of us, we are filled with amazing ideas! I like your idea..and maybe, once we get good enough, we can become Hollow's master tea experts! Perhaps this fine young inventor could help us to invent a new tea!"
Kasyr finally ended that meager existance of the cup of tea he'd been nursing- the cup settled onto the table before him. Jacklin, having said something to him first, was addressed, "A temporary solution, peut-etre, but..it works, et for that I'm thankful. ..Et at least it spares me the feeling of a morning after." What was almost a hint of mirth crept into his voice, the hybrid still retaining a relatively docile demeanour as he turned to glance at Ciadra, "I'd be honored. Certainly, the company would be appreciated, Cherie."
Ciadra said to Kasyr, "Then it is set. Let me know when you are to visit and I shall prepare a grand feast for you...and if you want to bring guests, they are more then welcomed as well."
Xarden has shiftier eyes, "Behave? Thea, you know I could never do that." He turns his attention to the new aquaintence, "How you doiiin'?" he say, with a cheesy grin.
Delta said to Ciadra, "Let's just say I'm a self-proclaimed Guardian of Laughter. The world needs it so I supply it. Even if in small amounts."
Ciadra said to Delta, "You are a good person, m'dear. You are right...this world is in dire need of laughter once in a while. So much hostility and rage..."
Delta reaches into his pack brining out a ring. Tossing the ring to Ciadra, he warns, "When you wear that ring, becareful who you touch with it. It will shock them extremely, but it won't hurt them, it will heal them."
Eyren smiles back at Xarden despite herself, his smile seeming to be contagious. "Oh, I'm doing rather well considering that I've gotten my hands dirty and faced highbred .. spiders today" she turns to thea then. "a small price to pay for the company of this fine lady."
Ciadra catches the ring carefully and holds it gingerly in her hands, "Ah..a ring...a ring to heal?" She glances up at the man who tossed her the object, "Tell me, how does a simple ring like this work?"
Jacklin said to Ciadra, "The wonderful inventor could be the tie that binds it all together for us. I think tea experts are exactly what this land needs at the moment."
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "Right again, m'dear. Yes yes...I shall look into this..and ask this wonderful inventor for help..and perhaps find someone who is an expert at plants to aid us as well."
Thea very nearly blushes at the word of praise, humor tinged retort then being issued, "Aye, the feeling is quite mutual. Though I do have to ponder finding a proper leather worker to sew a saddle that would fit one of those hideous things. Could prove a most sporting event."
Jacklin said to Ciadra, "I will keep my eyes open for someone such as that."
Ciadra smiles towards Jacklin, "Forgive me for being rude earlier, but allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Ciadra, Queen of the Shattered City. It is so nice meeting you, m'dear."
Kasyr lets out a decidely pensive 'Hmm' at that, tapping his finger against his lips the whole while. Finally, after a few more moments, he'd simply offer up, "Lori. She'd likely be amused..by the politics et all. She had a love for playing host, I'm sure she wouldn't mind being spoiled." A pause, and then a few more moments came to pass, with some thought or another evoking a rather vivid reddening of his expression, something more than capable of cutting through his melancholy to the more interesting emotion that was embarassment, "...Then again."
Jacklin courteously returns the smile, "I knew you from the talking of others but a proper introducing is always good. I'm Jacklin Erristyn, not really much of anything. It is a delight to meet the Queen."
Ciadra said to Taryn, "Alrighty."
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "A beautiful name for a beautiful woman, dear Jacklin."
Thea said to Xarden, "And just what trouble have you been into of late?"
Kasyr perked, rather thoughtlessly pointing a finger in Jacklins direction, "..Your lot es with Rheven, neh?"
Delta said to Ciadra, "Ring. ring you hold, can be a powerful stimulant by energy surging through your body "electrifying" your target. But only works well if you shake their hand. *laughs*"
Thea inclines her head to the passing Avian, curious viridians scanning his frame.
Xarden said to Thea, "Well.. Been busy. As busy as days are these days."
Ciadra places the ring on a slender finger and twists it about before she glances at Delta with a bemused smile, "Brilliant, sir...just brilliant. So..is there lightning magic being harbored in here, expelled when another force comes in contact with it?"
Jacklin said to Ciadra, "Oh, certainly not at all. I'm a fairly hateful person on any other night. No hint of beauty in these tired bones, I assure you. Beauty is what I'd call that pixie over there, Thea. You are as well. Beauty was never for me."
Thea offers an arched brow expression to the elf, "Busy, aye? Dare I ask who with?"
Taryn returns the gesture, sparing a moments time to scan the woman as well.
Xarden shifts his eyes again, "What makes you think I have someone? Actually, I've been busy chillaxin out here. Then I went to the Cenril Bank. Then came back here and had a drink. There really does need to be more hours in the day, so then I can spare some for someone else."
Ciadra said to Jacklin, "I disagree, dear Jacklin. Beauty is more than skin deep. Beauty is in your personality which shines through. You have shown me nothing but kindness tonight, and therefor you are a true beauty in my eyes."
Delta shakes his head, smiling, "No, not lightning. Laughter. They say laughter is the best medicine. So I made laughter a medicine."
Thea just barely thought she heard her name, eyes turning to Jacklin. The pixie grins toothily and winks, "I still say pie all 'round."
Thea smirks at his sarcasm then looks on Eyren, "Did you see him shift there? Be wary I say." She giggles and examines his jar.
Eyren laughs once more at Xarden's aeemingly unshakable manner of nonchalance. "More time for mischief by the looks of it" she says in a near inaudible tone, winking at the elf.
Jacklin chuckles, the words of the Queen were of the oddest nature in her ears, "I'm not so good with putting things together with words but I thank you all the same." Thea was toasted with her empty whisky glass, "Man pies!"
Ciadra merely shrugs her shoulders, "You are most welcome, dear Jacklin."
Ciadra said to Delta, "Laughter..laughter is harbored in here? I truly am amazed by you, my friend. You are clearly a brilliant inventor. "
Xarden winks back, "Abso-mutha-trukin-lutely."
Kasyr paused, glanced around the whole of the place, then simply moved to depart, something of a faint, "Pardon moi, et a good evening." directed towards Ciadra. Certainly, he didn't quite feel like a mess yet, but staying here as he was...what was he achieving. That, in itself, bothered him. Thus, onwards he went, to venture onwards and outwards.
Thea has now become suspicious of the Xarden and his odd tongue, "Have you been into my dust again, deary?"
Ciadra said to Kasyr, "Bon soir my friend. Be well."
Delta said to Ciadra, "I wouldn't go so far as to say "brillant", but thank you none the less. I have more, but the tavern isn't the right place especially if it's crowded like this."
