Deilakrion entered the tavern with a quiet humble quality that belied the glint in her eyes. She ignored the patrons as her eyes lit on her third, and she nodded to him as she ducked behind the bar despite Steadman's protests. With a small grunt of triumph she'd rise again, clutching a thick and slightly glowy Book to herself. She approached Caeryph with no regard for any dalliances the man might have been involved in, and thrust the Book towards him with pages open. The page she'd turned to was titled "The Vailkrin Wolf Pack" in an elegant script, and what followed was a short list of names detailed with colored pictures that looked as though they were real. It was a list of the Pack. Next she turned the page to show members of the Eldritch Cabal, all the while staring at him. "This is how." She said without preamble. Her own manners were not so great, either.
By the time the feline had shy'd her glance away, he had finished the last of the meat, and again, used his arm to wipe away his bloody lips. Slowly, his eyes had followed the Alpha from her point of entry, to the detour at the bar, and finally, her perch before him. He reluctantly took the book in his hands, and held it as best he could (not noticing the bit of blood he smeared about the cover) and squinted. Page by page he scanned, looking at the words and letters as if they were hirogliphics; the pictures he could manage, but the words..they were just going to be a nuicance to him. He held the book closer, almost pressing his nose to the parchment, and quietly spoke. "This..is both packs?"
Deilakrion would nod to the other. "Yes, black predator. You will go to each, face by face." Her voice was a mangled rasp, though the quality of her voice was yet a mild alto pitch. "You will have each give something to the Book. . ." and here she'd flip the pages, careful not to touch Caeryph, and open her wrist above her own face so her blood dripped onto her own image. There was a muted flash of light, and then her picture became more vibrant. The ink of her name turned to a crisp blue. Caeryph would then, if he tried, be able to locate her via the powerful magics imbued into the Book. "Monster made it." This was in a lowered tone, as Deilakrion eyed him with a stern visage. "Be careful with the thing. Do not let any other flesh have it. When the black predator has found all, return to this creature with it."
Caeryph was most intruiged by the book, the flash it made- the 'items' it would require, and the odd magics it would put him power of. Slowly, he took the book back from her, again, holding it much closer then it should have been. He even went so far as to sniff at the page that contained her picture, wondering if it carried her scent as well. "How will..they know?" He too had spoke low, his voice a gruff haggard mumble. "Will..they know..me?" He was a bit uncertain of the fact of approaching several strangers, and asking them for something for the book- how would they react? He sure knew how -he- would react. It wasn't pleasant.
Deilakrion smiled at the other 'wolf, though the irony inherent to those twisted lips might not be lost on the other. "No. You will approach the Pack, regardless." She then turned away from him. Her features were rugged; nose looking broken and one cheek puffy as though it had molded itself after an old injury, and one of her arms hung rather stiffly at her side. Yet she was still Deilakrion, steely-eyed and firm. She turned to look at Adena, and though she spoke her words were yet directed to Caeryph. "Have you met any other 'wolves, black predator?"
Adena had an ear cocked, though it was not for them--as much as it appeared as such. Alas, a voice had clouded her thoughts and still she appeared to be boring holes into the rickity tables with unmoving eyes. Only vaguely was she aware of Deilakrion's gaze upon her, though motion came in the form of flexing digits, no more.
Caeryph sighed and dropped his head, his thick, mangy hair covering his face. He really didn't like the sound of this. He held the book close to his chest however, taking her warning as to not let any others grab hold of it, 'cause it was important, obviously. For the next question, he looked up, opening his mouth as if already wanting to point out others, but couldn't. He knew they had that animal in them, that wolfish arua to them, but on two legs and bare flesh they stood. Just like him right now. "No..yes- kinda." He really couldn't answer it at first, and he even took a few moments to try and plan out his words. "They are..but..they don't show it." That confused even him, hopefully, she'd understand what he ment.
Deilakrion scratched at her head, and gave another half smile at the evidently distracted feline. "Keep eyes open." She'd look back to the other 'wolf at this. "The den is being made stronger. Soon we will be ready." For what, she didn't specify, though her eyes shifted to Urghdak and would narrow. The other half-troll studiously avoided eye contact. Deilakrion would shrug and stride over to the bar, where she'd take a seat and imperiously order a beverage from Steadman, who was eyeing her like she was mad.
Caeryph was curious, no dobut, but wouldn't ask. It was pretty obvious she'd not tell him why, and pehaps only annoy her with his pestering. Besides, it wasn't like him to pester for information anyways, so the topic was left dead right then and there. For a split second, he looked past Deila, and at Adena, then again ignored her. "When do I find them?"
Deilakrion shrugged. "When you see them." Her drink had arrived, and she put her lips to it like it was lifeblood.
Caeryph was cool with that. At least he didn't have to treck all about the lands in search of them, god only knew that idea was asking for trouble. He leaned in somewhat, nose sniffing about as he eyed her drink. "What's that?" It sure wasn't water, that was for sure, smelt too bad to be, and he'd seen just about everyone drinking it here.
Adena was, again, mildy aware of eyes upon her, though this time it was not just Deilakrion. Slowly lids would lift and sapphire optics shifted slowly to gaze upon them, though a curtain of hair fell to sheild her eyes.
Deilakrion would bare her teeth at Caeryph and push the glass a little further down the bar. "Try it." She'd bark a laugh, and then exit the Tavern with a feral air that bespoke a hunt.
Caeryph just leaned in and sniffed at the crude beverage, and wrinkle his nose. He was good- he didn't need the drink..instead, he'd wonder what on earth that laugh was for as he made for the upper floor again.
