Deilakrion had squirrelled Monster away, having the thing follow her upstairs to the Den of Vixens as if this second meeting was a perverse adjustment to the first. They'd settled down to raw alcohol and water, as well as a now empty (and bloody) platter. They talked back and forth rather civilly for a long time, and things were understood and put into plot. Monster leaned back in its chair, eyes ticking over the ceiling in stuttered movements as it mused over Deilakrion's proposal. "Little creature, you are starting to grasp for things larger and larger. You wish for me to make a visual logbook of all of your clan members, and tie it through to the Dark Lady so that it updates?" and here, the creature would nod warily, "And then give this extremely volatile piece of working to one of your dirty wolf brothers so that he might play errand boy." Deilakrion nodded again. "Be aware, little one, that if any of it is abused, you will owe me more than you thought you ever could." The monster's eyes were dark holes. "You, or one of your clan, will be mine for the length of time I specify." Deilakrion's stare had grown reserved, but still she nodded.
Caeryph was confused. Why was he here again? It was bad enough that he had suffered the much unwanted visit in earlier, but now this was getting rediciulose. He'd been all over the lands, in search of- what he now was asuming to be a ghost- Deila. It was his keen sense of smell again, that led him here. Having followed the scent back into the forest, to the Den..even to Kelay- and now back here. A wild goose chase was all it was to him. But as he shy'd away from Steadmens stern glare once more, he eyed the stairs in the back. He thought to himself, maybe she -was- in the building, just not the same room. It made sense. So, here he was, arms pressed against the door, and his chest close to the edge- peering in.
"The other?" Deilakrion's voice was quiet, muted in the strange emptiness of the Den at that hour, when most patrons had left or gone to the Tavern below to get properly drunk. Diamanda had slunk off somewhere, likely to give the two some illusion of privacy, and in that space they had truly flourished. Monster put its hands behind its head as it pushed the chair to its limits. The chair itself was creaking in protest. "We will see. I will need time to give my answer on it." Deilakrion scowled, and drank her water more fully. Monster was smiling unpleasantly at her. "This has been a most profitable visit, however, so I will see that you are satisfied. . .though you should be aware that the display earlier will not cover all of this debt you insist upon incurring."
Caeryph was quick to spy the Alpha in the near empty room- along with her, Monster. His eyes narrowed as he tried hard to depict every detail of the other before pushing the door open. His chest slowly drug off the door frame as he dropped his arms to his side, slowly making his way in. At last, he had found her..only two days~ His approach was somewhat hesitant, for he did not truly know if privacy was to be had, or he was open to the couple- no matter. He was soon at the tables edge, speaking in a low tone. "You're hard to find.." He didn't care if he was rude or not- he wasn't really use to such manners.
Deilakrion was about to respond to Monster when Caeryph made himself known, and her demeanor brightened considerably. "Black predator. Good. Good." She swept her arm from the 'wolf to Monster and back. "This is the one." Those words to Monster, and then to Caeryph: "You will become the messenger who will keep my two packs connected. Monster will help with that," and the glance she sent towards monster wasn't quite all the way pleased with the prospect. "Sit. Hey--" And at her call, Diamanda returned. "More meat." Diamanda left without much in the way of complaint, though the other lycan's eyes lingered over Caeryph's form before she ventured away.
Caeryph slowly took the seat that was offered with the most confused of all faces to him. Other pack? Messenger? He kept his arms in his lap, feeling odd about sitting in the chairs again, all dressed up in his ragged clothes- like he belonged with the civilized ones. He wouldn't ask her questions about the two, for his expression said it for him. The meat was eyed at hungrily, but not taken; he woudn't eat with the two around..not yet at least and as for the other lycan, she'd go ignored.
Diamanda was prompt if nothing else, and the woman's attentiveness earned her a nod from Deilakrion. "Eat." She told the male 'wolf. "Too skinny." This was rather laughable considering the creature's constant look of scruffy scrawniness. Perhaps, though, it was just a trademark. She was learning cues at a rapid rate, but took her time explaining the new order. "This creature has 'wolf pack, and . . .other pack. Cabal. Pack. We are big, and we are strong, black predator. Too big. Don't know all pack members. Don't keep in contact." Here she snorted, as though the whole mess had not been her idea and not her fault, "So the monster will create a way for packs to keep in contact. The Black predator will keep pack connected. " She bared her teeth at the other 'wolf. "Have lesser 'wolves under control. Important." Her tone really wasn't a request, though the words seemed phrased as though to assure the other of her sincerity.
Caeryph said, ""How do I go about that?" The man leaned in, glaring for a moment as he took a slab of the raw meat in his grip, and went about quietly ripping strips off. He wasn't clean about it either, with both hands held tightly about the slippery meat, Caeryph tore into it like..well- a wolf. He knew he really didn't have much say in the matter, so reluctantly he listened to what he was going to be doing. "Messenger..heh, of all things."
Deilakrion pushed at a lip with a single finger, smearing blood. "You will see." That wasn't really any help, but it was all she really had at the moment. "Monster must take time to . . . create the means which the black predator will use. Meantime," and here she eyed Caeryph, "you will become comfortable here. This place belongs to Cabal. Cabal is my pack, so, it is yours too. You betray Cabal, you betray this creature." And that led to a singularly powerful pulse of dominant pressure. "I would not like that." Her voice was quiet.
Caeryph paused in his chewing, those golded wolvish eyes of his nearly beaming in the low light of the Den. He was neither scared nor intimidated as he should have been, but understood everything she ment. He never had plans of betraying her, nor would he ever- even though he was still taking roughly to the quick pace of change in the last few weeks. He nodded, once more masticating with the last of the meat in his hand. 'Is..there another way- do I have to come here?" He really didn't like the idea of having his sole purpose to be coming to this building..this city, that he loathed, but little did he know at the time, of how much this place would become his home in the several weeks to come.
Deilakrion snorted. "Here is safety. Ignore fleshes. Stupid fleshes." And here, Monster would rise to its feet and cough softly, before it disappeared with a sick 'pop'. Deilakrion ignored its exit, well aware it had much work to do in the coming days. "But, pack home is in the forest." She'd gesture loosely in the approximate right direction. "This pack's den is here. Important here." She'd shrug, knowing that sooner or later the other 'wolf would get over it.
Caeryph would get over, and even come to like this place..it would just take some time..a lot of time. He again, paused his eating to blink at the 'pop', and shake his head. So strange things were in the cities. Caeryph sighed and finished up eating the last of his food, keeping his head low as to avoid eye contact; it made him feel awkward when he was eating. Slowly he'd lick his fingers and nod again to his leader after pointing to the spot where Monster once sat. A silent way of forming a question, he couldn't talk, his fingers were in his mouth!
Deilakrion's head tilted over to that space. "Monster is. . .an unknown. It does many strange things. This creature will kill it someday." The entirety of the words was rather neutral, as though she didn't care one way or another. The way her eyes burned, however, lead to a different conclusion: she had a personal vendetta against the thing.
Caeryph finished licking the blood from his fingers, though not bothering once to wipe his face (mainly because it spaced his mind). When he was all done, the man shifted about in the ragged clothes that still smelled of snake, and wished soon to be out of them again. He loathed being like a person, having to dress, walk and talk like them. Still, he'd have to make some heavy changes soon, for all of that was to be his hell- his job. "Who..else is in your pack..the 'wolf' pack?" He didnt' mean to come off as insulting, or mocking, but simply he was finding lots of other lycans about, and didn't know much of who he could trust. So far only Sophie, who he still couldn't get over her kindness.
Deilakrion relaxed within her chair. "Sophie, Isen. More soon." And indeed, the thought had seeded and grown within her mind that she would find more. She would have them -live- and live comfortably and stably. They would be viewed as more than just solitary 'wolves without great strength. There -was- strength to be had in packs, even if it lent itself in vulnerable moments. She drank more of her water. She still wasn't used to talking so much.
Caeryph said, "And in..Cabal pack?" He wasn't use to speaking this much either, even though it was all simple questions. It was just a simple sign that he was 'warming' up to her, even if he didnt' know it."
Deilakrion snorted. "This creatures knows not all the pack." A sly glance upwards. "The black predator will change that. Eventually."
Caeryph found that somewhat interesting, to not know all those in your pack, but he then again..he didn't know who was in his pack either. The lycan leaned in and began to scrape at the few bits of raw meat on the platter, letting hunger get the best of him. Maybe he was too skinny afterall.
Deilakrion stood, eyes wandering away and narrowing at some missed data. "This creature. . .ask that one," she pointed towards Diamanda, "for more. If hungry. This creature must take care of. . .pack matters." Caedan and Tenebrae's scents were finally decoded and accepted. She pulsed reassurance towards Caeryph. "Be strong." A month ago, she would not have said those words. A lot changes in the world, and quickly. She was out the door with inhuman speed.
