Isen lounges by the campfire, stone disc in hand, he seems to be staring off into the night sky, into the myriad of stars that can be seen in a wide swath about the jungle canopy. His finger rubs in circles on the disc, absently, and it seems as if the sand around him swirls with the motion of the finger.
Tenebrae edged out of the hut, her pack bulging and a sheaf of parchments in her hand. She wasn't long in joining Isen on the beach, though would do nothing to disturb his reverie apart from give a soft cough and rustle of papers, so as not to startle him. Unslinging the bag from her shoulder, she folded the papers and tucked them into it, finding a seat on a flat, dry bit of sand, which seemed to tickle at her skin, though hardly a breeze blew.
Isen reaches up to pat Tenebrae on the shoulder, awkwardly. "Gom knows his way around the jungle, Tenebrae. I think he's safe, so long as the pygmies don't have him." He leans back again, shifting around.
Tenebrae lifted one brow dubiously, but eventually nodded. "I suppose so. Now. Though this voyage went a little off-course, what's your assessment of the ship, and crew? Are you satisfied we might be ready for raids?"
Isen can't help but let out a grating chuckle. "Oh, I'd say we're ready for just about anything, short of the entire Cenril navy. Especially our landing party, as it were."
Tenebrae chewed her lip. "In that case..." A sudden barrage of noise shattered the quiet night, a terrified and ungodly shrieking as though of some animal in terrible pain, punctuated with a low, deep roar. It came from the direction of the hut. "Isen..." She scrambled up, grabbed her sword, and ran toward the racket.
Isen hurries in behind Tenebrae, a knife in his hand. He glances around, searching frantically for the source of the sound. The disc is clasped tightly in his left hand, a reassuring presence.
Tenebrae slithered to a halt in the sand, feet almost skidding from under her, and she had to grab the fortunately nearby Isen in order to prevent a greater stumble. Her eyes were fixed ahead, to the circle of skulls within which stood the seafaring orc. "Gomrak.." The vampiress' lips moved, but the name was not voiced; she was too horrified to do more than stand and stare, slitting her eyes against a scene too brutal for even the bloodthirsty woman to bear with comfort. For with the orc - indeed, clutched in his ham-handed grip - was a peculiar creature that seemed to flux in and out of shape. One moment, it was an impossibly large rat, which squealed viciously and snapped razor-sharp incisors at its captor, occasionally connecting by the look of the terrible wounds on the orc's thick arms. The next, the creature blurred -- shifted-- and there was a familiar shape: a man known to both Isen and Tenebrae. When in man-shape, he was shaken severely by Gomrak, who held him tightly by the scruff of his tattered shirt and the nape of his greasy, grey-specked hair. The sound of his teeth colliding with each other was loud enough to hear even over the cries, and gone was his cocky, wheedling tone. The man was fighting for his very life, and was losing, and he knew it. "P...please..." Then he convulsed in the orc's grip, cranium elongating, jaw turning to snout, flesh to fur. And equally changed, his fear turned to feral, savage wrath, and Sherman the thief was a man-sized rat, and Gomrak was once again smashing it with massive fists, and blood spattered, and the squealing started all over again.
Isen , when he realizes the situation, bursts into helpless laughter. To think that the foolish little drunk who had stowed away on board was now getting his just deserts at the hands of a cannibalistic orc...how fitting. He watches, his teeth bared in glee, as the carnage unfold before his eyes.
Carnage it was. The two were making a mess of each other, and Tenebrae wondered why Gomrak, usually so ruthlessly efficient with the kill as to avoid excessive cruelty - more for expedience's sake than kindness, though it was -- was torturing the thief so. Orcish curses were roared; she could make out little of it, the words garbled by the vast man's rage. "Isen, he took something from the hut, but I don't know what." This hushed aside to the lycan was given hastily in between bouts of high-pitched screams. Tenebrae finally had to avert her gaze to the ground, as Sherman made what was to be his last shift to a more human form. "I.. I didn't take your damned rock, you gotta believe.... aaaah!" There was a ghastly crunch, as of bone splintering, and a wail so shrill and keen it hardly seemed to come from a human mouth. And then, "Tenebrae... save me...." Save him. The worthless little thief, trustworthy and as possibly dangerous as a cobra, save him? And what was he talking about-- rock? She struggled with herself, his pleas grating on her. Then it hit her, what he meant. The rock. Oh gods, the rock... that Ary loved so.
Isen continues in his mirth, until the realization hits him, too. He turns to glance at Tenebrae, giving a slight shake of his head, as if to indicate that telling Gom would be a bad idea. Couldn't leave Sherman half dead now, could we?
Tenebrae stared at the ground a long while after the screaming stopped, and she heard the fermin's body hit the ground like a wet sack. Gomrak was breathing raggedly, standing over the mangled ratman, keeping a terrible silence. The tension was palpable. Eventually, he bent to grip the corpse by one arm, and dragged it into the hut. Tene shivered, and without another word to Isen walked back to the camp at the beach.
Isen follows, casting a curious glimpse into the hut before hurrying back to Tenebrae’s side. "Well...that was most certainly interesting. A good send off, I'd say."
Tenebrae shot the lycan a dark look. "Even he deserved better." Odd thing to say. Not like he was anything to care about. But in this, at least, Sherman had been innocent and it rankled her a bit. "Now, get moving, Mate. Gather the crew. It's time to go home." Lapsing back to silence, she began stuffing blankets and other sundry camp items into drawstring sack.

-- Below Deck, The Eternity--
Tenebrae shouted, "Gods dammit.... you lot.. down here. Lil help?"
Terra was tenative, hesitating as she climbed down. "There's not going to be a chitterling down here, is there?"
Terra shouted, "Jaidin! Come on!"
Saiyah ~Thunk-thunk-thunk-thunk....~ Saiyah hit the last step hard and went face first into the ground. She still wasn't use to going down the stairs.
Tenebrae was sprawled atop a large pile of glittering, shining, golden, sparkly-gem things. Despite that she had always fantasised about this, the reality was actually not that sensual. There were.. pointy bits. "No chitterling. But I think I have a bracelet up my..."
Terra hadn't cleared the steps yet and was literally bowled over by the slippery Saiyah. Strike!
Isen steps down to the lower decks, and stares at all the loot, somewhat greedily.
Terra believes the crash muted Tene's last few words...
Saiyah calls dibs on the bracelet..
Jaidin grumbled loudly once more, after he made it down the ladder. The sign made him very grateful he'd left Felix at home... "You okay, Tene?"
Tenebrae scrambled up, to sit rather precariously on the pile. "Right. Clan wealth. take your pick." She eyed Eyren. "You.... "
Eyren slips down the familiar ladder, Sahtya following close behind; Eyren having noticed that the assortment of odd reptilian creatures on deck had caused a tensing in the girls shoulders, and a frantic panicked look in her eyes. AS she reaches the bottom she pauses, her eyes roaming over the abundance of treasure that littered the floor. "Wwhere, where did it all come from?" She asks, turning to Tenebrae.
Tenebrae said to Eyren, "Booty." No, not the kind with the bracelet up it. "From the island."
Terra eyed the collar and then Jaidin. Hmmm.
Tenebrae cleared her throat a bit. "Isen picks first." She glanced to the lycan. "Was that all of it?"
Saiyah was already eyeing the same collar.
Tenebrae rilfed through the bottom of the torn sack. "Hold on..."
Terra said to Tenebrae, "...Can I bang your drum?"
Isen nods to Tenebrae, then squats down near the hoard. He scrapes together a goodly pile of coins, and one ring that seems to have caught his eye. He piles the money into his belt pouch, and slips the ring onto his finger happily.
Terra winked at Tene.
Tenebrae shook the sack out. Yups, that was it.
Tenebrae said to Terra, "You can slap my skins anytime."
Eyren stands against a far wall, Sahtya keeping her company, as she would simply watch the others take their fill for now; not sure where she was permitted to interject, whether she was to take anything.
Tenebrae starts throwing wealth at people. "Come on, it's cluttering the deck." She looked at Eyren again. "You...."
Terra wriggled the collar away when she got the chance. Oh, and she'd smuggle a drum.
Jaidin raised his brows immediately, soon as his eyes adjusted to the lighitng as he was able to see the stash emptied out onto the floor. "Oh, wholly..." Perhaps an item or two caught his eye, but he mainly focused on Terra... And was able to see the thoughts as she looked at the collar, then to him. He started to back away with a widened eye.
Eyren draws her gaze from the weath that littered the floor and cast a questioning gaze to Tenebrae; thinly arched eyebrows raised in expectancy, as Tenebrae had started with 'you' twice now, and yet left it unfinished.
Tenebrae said to Eyren, "You're not on the ledger." Tenebrae frowned.
Terra played the part of the pouting significant other, lower lip wobbling and wide eyes constantly hidden by rapidly blinking lids. Determination, my friends...
Saiyah wrinkled her nose to the pile and began to poke a finger through it all. She pretty much had all this back at her pygmy island...mountains and mountains of it- but still..that was there, this was here. So, with a quick random dip of the hand into the pile, she'd pull out a few items to her liking.
Tenebrae rolled off the pile of pilfered goodies and reached for her pack.
Jaidin was content with getting the last-pickings... though the drum was looking mighty fine. As for Terra, she almost suckered him in completely with that expression. But he had to be strong! So.. He hid behind Saiyah, hoping that nifty tail would maybe smack him unconscious or something so he wouldn't bend to the vampiress' will power.
Terra didn't notice the sly Asher slip by and collect the Token of Love, offering it to his new-found beau, Rupaul.
Tenebrae wrested from that vasty bag a cloth-wrapped rectangle, from which emitted a faint snapping sound.
Eyren would press herself tighter against the wall at Tenebrae's words, feeling the true interloper amongst this gathering. Her arms would rise to cross protectively across her body, and a momentary agitation of teeth to lip would commence, before she'd shake herself and look back at Tenebrae. "I could wait above deck if you would prefer" she says in a low but steady voice.
Terra heard that snapping and immediately was on alert. Tucking the collar away, she opted to scramble towards Jaidin and duck behind him. "Chitterling!"
Isen turns to Eyren. "You're entitled to a share in the profits, friend. Come, take your portion.'
Saiyah head snapping and instanly thought of how it sounded lik her tail after Tenebrae had stepped on it.
Tenebrae said to Eyren, "Don't be silly..." She gingerly flipped the cloth back from the object it covered, revealing a large and hideous tome, the cover of which appeared to be the dried, whole face of an orc. The maw of the thing rustled and clenched its teeth. "Just... gimme a moment."
Tenebrae said to Saiyah, "Can I borrow one of your quills, pet?"
Jaidin blinked rapidly, after composing himself after nearly jumping at Terra's scampering and sudden yell. "The hell is Chitterling?!" He stared intently at the cloth that appeared to hold something snapping, thinking maybe that was Chitterling.
Saiyah blinked, wondering what the hell it was Tenebrae was wrestling out of her sack. A quck hand plucked the one that was holding her hair in a bun and flicked it throught the air to the woman.
Jaidin -- if his gut wasn't already nearly dead from all the whisky he'd consumed in his lifetime, Jaidin would have felt sick at the sight of this book. Orcs like Alterath were ugly enough; dried up and put on a book was something that would cause the weak to faint.
Tenebrae snatched the quill mid-air. "Thanks." She eyed the book. The book eyed her back.
Terra peered over Jaidin's shoulder, releasing the grip she had on his side as she did so. A low murmur of understanding would sound as she whispered to Jaidin, "Silly, that's no Chitterling. He lives at the Corpse. ...I hope." Quickly, her attention would shift to Eyren, studying her as one would do soon-to-be-purchased meat. "Hmm." Terra would then step alongside Jaidin, prodding his side. "I didn't know you were Cabal."
Eyren allows for her gaze to flicker from Tenebrae to rest upon Isen for a silent second, during which she'd speak with her eyes, a slight shaking of her head following, before she'd turn to look curiously at Tenebrae once more. "Very well then" she says, releasing herself to sign to Sahtya, that all was well.
Tenebrae grumbled softly, and tried to open the tome. It snapped and spit, gnashing silent obscenities. The vampiress grinned and stabbed the quill deep into the knobbly, green hide. Ichor oozed thickly, and she retracted the pen's nib, carful to avoid losing a finger in the process. "Be good. Or it's stabby time." Yes. She was talking to the ledger.
Jaidin gave Terra an obviously odd look then, wondering why she would suddenly say 'Chitterling' then, if it didn't apply to the here and now. All he said was, "Okay..." Still baffled, his look turned even more confused at her words. "Seriously? I've been a pack mate since I -- Came," yea, that would work, "to these lands." He just hoped that he'd never told the vampiress the truth of living here his whole life, or he'd be stuck explaining hairy situations.
Tenebrae, with her tongue betwen her teeth, used the ichor-inky quill to quickly scratch something on a page inside, once the grumpy tome had settled to an impassive stillness. On finishing, she snapped the book shut.
Saiyah eyes the other few emerald items..and takes them.
Tenebrae picked a couple of bright bracelets off the pile, recalling Isen's liking for them in the swamps. "I have a bit put aside for Portea, Ary, and the others."
Jaidin does also steal the coronet... he was Yule King, after all.
Terra would gently collect the pendant, slipping it into one of Jaidin's pockets.
Jaidin inched toward the pile; that silver was looking mighty shiny.... Shifty-like, he nabbed it!
Tenebrae tossed the bracelets Isen's way.
Isen catches the bracelets, and gives Tene a nod of thanks.
Jaidin didn't notice the pendant-slip just yet, but will be touched, later.
Terra was the more sentimental of the lot and then gathered the other pendant.
Saiyah now has a boot for her tail!
Terra won't elaborate on the -touched- bit, and instead busy herself with putting on the pendant.
Eyren breathed easier once Tenebrae had snapped the bestial book closed once more and moving about the perimeter set to shyly attaining a bit of the treasure for herself and Sahtya.
Tenebrae was wrasslin' with said book. Why she used it for the clan ledger we'll never know. Perhaps she was... you know. A bit mental.
Terra pressed the remaining pile of silver near Eyren. A subtle hint.
Jaidin spotted one final thing, and went for it. Hell, he'd fight for it if he had to. Not even knowing if she'd like it, Jaidin found the brooch and gingerly plucked it from the floorboards; he didn't give it to her just yet, but held it loosely in a closed hand until a bit of the nabbing died down.
Terra notes that mental is one of the requirements for becoming an EC member. The less sanity you have, the higher rank.
Jaidin likes the clan for that reason, though... Potential advancement for Jai.
Eyren flinches ever so slightly as she spied that the mound of silver had shifted in her general directiion. Leaning forward so that her warm face was for the most part obscured by the thick mass of her hair she snakes out a hand to scoop it in to her satchell.
Terra treated herself to a few gold pieces for her decent deed.
Jaidin affixed his attention to fussing about with his bandanna, warding those greedy fingers from the pile that the others deserved so much more.
Isen continues returning to the pile, spiriting away little bits and pieces, as well as a fair amount of coins.
Saiyah blinks- no...it can't be. Dust! It was so hers..
Terra would help Jaidin in his adjustments, if he allowed, that was.
Jaidin would let Terra help with the adjustments, so long as she didn't touch the scars. Yea... badass like that. He coughed inconspicuously to add to the overall effect that he was trying hard.
Eyren finishes scooping one last bit of treasure in to her satchell, before she took up her position along the wall once more.
Terra will gladly snag that extra gold...
Terra tugged on Jaidin's sleeve, indicating her need for attention. "A drink, please?"
Tenebrae pointed to the deck above. "Shall we?"
Jaidin scrubbed at the stubble along his jaw as he thought; then voiced that thought. "Flask or whatever's up there?" And he'd point above them, more than happy to get out of the confined area in this hold.
--Aboard The Eternity--
Jaidin grabbed Terra's hand casually, and went toward the drink area, indicating with his free hand for her to choose whatever she wanted.
Terra selected one of the many bottles of wine and proceeded to uncork it, releasing the contents in a brief bursting display before her lips captured the bottle and tasted the liquid within. After a moment she'd lower the bottle, wipe her mouth, and offer it towards Jaidin. "Some for you?"
Jaidin wrinkled his nose at the wine, and shook his head. He'd reached instead into his cloak where he produced a flask-- he was always well-stocked with whisky. From that, he took a deep swig, content smile appearing on his face. "Thanks, though," he belatedly said.
Terra would continue to nurse her bottle, nodding to whatever tune came to mind. "Tene - will you sing?"
Terra said to Saiyah, "Do you sing?"
Eyren halts upon reaching the deck once more, her eyes surveying the treats laid out there; noting that Sahtya was eyeing the dark liquors with a keen interest that Eyren was not looking to encourage just now. Spying the candied apples, she quickly moves to take two, offering one to Sahtya as a means of temporarily distracting her from the assortment of wines and other alcoholic beverages not fit for a child of twelve seasons.
Terra was --thankfully-- deaf to the tune that Asher was currently warbling.
Saiyah arched a brow and shook her head. Hell, she wished she could sing, or simply talk for that matter.
Tenebrae leant her back to a mast and looked out to sea, her bottle lofted to serve in place of a pointy-finger. "We've plenty left to plunder. I'm planning a little.. surprise visit for a trade outpost further west, in Rynvale."
Tenebrae cleared her throat obligingly. "Twas on the good ship Venus.... By gods you should have seen us..." Luckily, a bit of rigging snapped and slapped a sail-corner across her mouth.
Jaidin grinned widely, whisky forgotten for the moment at Tenebrae's words. "Aye? I've been scouting. Don't think it'd be -that- difficult... Surely worth it."
Terra was blonde. You'd have to excuse her. Upon realize Saiyah's situation, she'd smile and offer the being a candied apple instead.
Terra believed apple's are peace treaty's.
Jaidin could sing... but hid that fact from the world. Buahah!
Saiyah would simply grin- her version of a giggle, and take the offered apple.
Terra elbowed Jaidin, indicating the center of the ship with her bottle. "Let's hear you sing, mm?"
Tenebrae wrassled with the sail-corner. "The cabin boy was Kipper, he was a lively nipper... we filled his..." Gloomph! The sail won that round. "... and circumcised the skipper.."
Terra was determined to polish off that bottle by her lonesome and would make the occasional drag from her claimed source.
Terra would, unfortunately, lose quite a bit of the wine through her nose, coughing it up from her lungs. Did Tene really just say that? Of course she did - it was Tene afterall.
Saiyah was just about to take a bite out of the delicious looking apple when her snake flew by and snatched it out of her hands. That bastard! Quickly slithering about, the naga would weave in and out of the crew, trying to get back her prize.
Jaidin was in the process of taking another swig, when Terra's words hit his ears-- it was like she could read minds. He nearly sputtered amber liquid all over her at the suggestion. Fervently he shook his head and his eye shifted back and forth. "Uh... I can't..." For an assassin that had exceptional skills at lying, it was hard doing so to Terra.
Eyren moves to stand quietly along the railing, her favorite position on the ship and looked to the velvety calm of the ocean at night, raising the carmalized treat to her lips and slowly biting that the pristine crunch filled her ears with the flooding of the fruits sweet juices filling her mouth soon after. Yes, this was perfect, or as close to perfect as she'd get with the absence of something, or someone.
Terra began to mop herself up, attempting to regain composure as the conversation continued. "Oh, c'mon... it'll be fun. Have us a little contest of sorts. You're up - sing!" Jaidin was saved for the moment, as he burst forth with laughter at what Tenebrae sang. Lost for words, he then settled to shaking his head in mirth/disbelief.
Saiyah slid to a halt- the python could have the prize for Saiyah's ears rang with the obscene words of Tenebrae's song.
Tenebrae was getting slapped three ways to Sunday by that sail. She'd give up the bawdy pirate song, opting for a dreg'o'rum, and thought about a slightly less blue shanty. Jaidin was eyed. "never met a one-eyed man that couldn't sing."
Terra blinked at Tene. "How many one-eyed men have you met?"
Tenebrae coughed, toeing the deck. "Couple..."
Terra briefly reflected on Tene's confession, wondering if there was a hidden meaning to that....
Eyren ponders for a moment then figures she'd make a great but not realy needed adition to the impromptue singathon.
Jaidin blushed furiously as now more attention was put on him. "Never learned," he lied-- again, a shifty eye. Oh, it was shifty, and he distracted himself with a great swig of alcohol. If these people were going to win him over-- and hell, they would-- he was certainly going to be less sober than he is now. Another swig, pleasant burn in his stomach. He looked at Cuki, then, "Uh... You can sing, I know it! Come on, man..."
Saiyah grinned and was quick to make an airplane out of paper and send it soaring towards Tenebrea with a scribbled note on it.
~The note reads..~ Oh, do tell.."
Tenebrae wadded the paper up and threw it overboard, shifty-eyed glance to Siayah. "Maaayybee." She scarfed her rum. A few more of those and... well. Maybe.
Terra continued to poke and prod at Jaidin, reluctant to buy into his lies. "With a voice like that? I'm sure you're a natural. Let's hear it." With a grin, the vampiress began to push him towards the center.
Oh no she didn't. Saiyah quickly folded yet another piece of parchment and sent it soaring through the air to the vampire.
Terra is sleeping in a room that doesn't have a Tene in it.
~The note reads..~ Tell me- now? Please.."
Tenebrae nicked Terra's bongos, and slapped 'em.
Terra will sleep with one-eyed men. Ahem.
Jaidin coughed, and took a swig of the flask once more. He then started 'clearing his throat', and put on a fake 'sore throat' sound. "I can't, my voice, it's going... it's uh... I think I have a cold!"
Terra quirked a brow, not buying it. "You were just fine earlier. Oh, and since I can't afford to get sick, I guess we can't be too close." Slowly, she'd begin to edge away. Saiyah quickly biffed Jaidin with a wadded up paper note.
Terra said to Eyren, "Men." She'd sigh dramatically. "Who needs 'em? You're cute."
Terra winked at Eyren, attempting to make it clear that she was joshing the other.
Jaidin eyed Saiyah and Terra with an ebil stare now, narrowed eye and everything! "It just hit me," he feigned, voice cracking with the attempt to make it sound sick. As for Terra getting sick-- he quirked a brow and asked, "I thought vampires didn't get human colds...?"
Eyren pushes her hair out of her face and looks Terra up and down slowly. "That's a nice set you got there. Are they natural?"
Terra shrugged, easily taking another swig of the slowly-emptying wine bottle. "I thought men didn't mind attention..."
Eyren was looking at the flashes of fang she'd caught in the sliver of moonlight that had settled upon the deck.
Terra grinned, instantly perking up at the compliment. "Well, yes. A rarity, I know."
Terra continued to flash Eyren, as indicated. Ahem.
Jaidin crossed his arms and pouted, slightly. "Not most men." Or something. Yea... Whatever kept the conversation going. He'd feign being upset with her if it came down to it. Meanwhile, he took another hearty swig of the whisky, feeling a little glazed over already. At Eyren's words though, he laughed hysterically and had to brace himself against the railing of the ship not to keel over. Yea, he was getting there.
Tenebrae hurrumphed, on reading the second note. "Alrighty. Two birds with one stone BUT..." She stared at Saiyah. "I will need music."
Eyren eyes Jaidin in turn, noting that he was grossly outnumbered. What was a man to do with not one, not two, but three females?
Jaidin thinks now is a good time for Cuki to jump in...
Saiyah grinned and slithered up next to Tenebrae, trying to take the bottle of rum from her so that she might have a drink or two..or three.
Terra finished off the rest of that bottle and set to work on another. As she neared Jaidin, she'd prod his chest. "Will you sing for me? We haven't asked you to strip..." The 'yet' was muttered...
Eyren said to Terra, "Amazing, you know most females have resorted to getting sets that perfect manually, though you say they are all natural?" She'd extend a hand then "I think, I shall have to feel them to know for sure."
Saiyah had a small pouch of silver coins ready to go just incase it did come to that.
Terra bared it all for Eyren, scooting closer in the process. "Oh, feel free. It's actually quite exciting so I don't mind. Careful, they might bite."
Tenebrae eyed Jaidin's own small pouch. "I think he's not got the ..." SLAP. That danged sail again.
Terra was too busy getting felt up to vouch or agree. Ahem.
Terra said to Eyren, "Sorry if it's wet. You know how that goes."
Saiyah was just about to agree with Tenebrae but was slapped by the same sail while eyeing Terra from afar..
Eyren snakes out a hand to have a nice feel of Terra's set; twin masters of perfection to be sure. "Hmmm" she'd mutter her fingers carefully inspecting first one, then the other. "Firm and" she'd pause then having caught a hint of nip at her fingertip "Well perky. All and all a nice set of fangs." She'd snicker then.
Terra is quite nervous about being eyed.
Jaidin quirked a brow, and feeling hot from the drink, declared mightily with a lewd grab, "I got 'em!" And with that downed the rest of the drink. Oh yea, he'd sing the hell out of you all. Music would be nice though. "Uh... Any got a flute or will I make do with drums?" There, he eyed Terra's fondled chest, with a slight snicker.
Jaidin coughs. Oh yea. Striked.
Terra said, "Tene likes to bang 'em..."
Eyren coughs and gives Terra's pearly fangs, framed by those come hither lips, and for a moment wishes she were male. But only for a moment mind you.
Tenebrae did. And banged 'em thoroughly. The skins thrummed to a junglish, sort of.. piratey... folkish... rhythm.
Jaidin stands triumphantly and proudly as he looks at Eyren, with a look that says, "Oh yea, I get to kiss those lips".
Saiyah wonders where on Tene that fiddle came from.
Tenebrae paused her banging to point at a random fiddle.
Terra grinned and in a bold, not-quite-sober move, the vampiress pressed a kiss to Eyren's cheek. "Welcome to our ... well, family-like-thing-family. Compliments get you far. Mostly into a bed, but hey! Who's complaining?"
Tenebrae gasps as the sail slaps Saiyah upside the head.
Eyren thinks that somewhere Daedria was just roused from sleep by the call of nature, hence the random fiddle .. rhymes with piddle, it's an ascendi thing.
Terra took up the fiddle and after a moment's pause to gather herself, Terra began to play along with Tene's drumming.
Saiyah is indeed smacked upside the head- again. She rised once more only to draw out a small piece of parchment to jot down a quick not and hand it off.
~The note reads..~ Do you think we should tie that thing down or something?"
Tenebrae blinked at Saiyah a bit. "Well, he might not be into that..." She was eyeing Jaidin. "Though I think Terra might have already tried..."
Terra paused, pulled the fiddle away and eyed the two mischief-making females. "Terra tried what?"
Tenebrae blinked innocently. "About.. half past three?" She looked at her wrist for some reason.
Jaidin grinned and jumped right into the song, not waiting just yet for the fiddle; it'd sound fine either way. One clearing of the throat, and his mouth was open, chords flexing and relaxing to produce those sweet notes taht was Jaidin's voice. Not too deep, resonate, but with a touch of rasp that made it unique to him and odd to listen to. "I'll tell you the story of my father; he went down to cork by sea, well the sun was hot, and the day was warm-- said he, "A pint would do me no harm!" Well the choice wasn't the type to show off singing skills, but it was upbeat and fun, the type of song that a jig would go well with. "Went in he did and called for a ale, Tender said they're out, sad face pale. "Try whisky, ten years in the wood!" Father said he'd try cider, he'd heard it was good." And now Jaidin's voice got louder, boisterous even. "Oh never oh never, oh never again! If I live to be a hundred or a hundred and ten, He fell to the floor and couldn't get up, After drinking a quart of the Johnny Jump Up!"
Saiyah quickly drew out in large letters |Nothing| on a blank scroll and held it to her chest for the woman to read.
Eyren decides that with the growing inebriation amongst most of the crew, now would be as good a time as any to slip away. Beside her Sahtya was yawning and rubbing at her eyes at intervals. With a silent wave to Tenebrae (though she'd not know if she'd even register the gesture) she'd slip from the boat, Sahtya following tiredly behind.
Tenebrae shouted, "Woooo hooo!" Tene liked that song. "Go Jaid!"
Tenebrae flapped a hand Eyren's way.
Saiyah once again put quill to paper and held out a new sign that said; |Jaid we <3 U!|
Tenebrae dropped 1 human hand.
Terra had resumed her fiddle-playing at the start of the song but abadoned it to clap along instead, occasionally bouncing merrily to the tune despite the words. All the while she'd eye Saiyah, waiting for the honest response...
Saiyah dug around in Tene's pockets when she wasn't looking and grabbed for another black rum.
Saiyah found a summer sausage.
Saiyah thinks...wrong pocket?
Terra grinned, and after leaving the fiddle be, approached Jaidin. Snagging one of his arms, the vampiress would hop about, forcing him to ...dance? Or something like it.
Jaidin was thankfully too immersed in the song he'd learned in the mines when he was little, to notice Tenebrae and Saiyah's secretive words... But he did grin wildly as he sang, continuing on with another verse, "After drownin the third pa went to the yard, where he bumped into Solaris the guard, "Come here to me boy don't you know I'm the law?" Well father up his fist and shattered his jaw! Solaris fell to the ground and doubled his knees.. Well it wasn't Pops that hit 'im-- 'twas Johnny Jump Up! Next thang he remembered by the sea, was a cripple on crutches that said to he: "Fraid of me life, I'll be hit by a mailcart, won't you help me cross to the rynvale bar?" Well... After drowning a quart of the cider so sweet, he dropped his crutched and danced on his feet!" Here Jaidin needed some more drink; singing made you thirsty. Fresh out of whisky, he opted for the rum. Took off the topper and let the contents fall into his gaping mouth lest the rasp be too harsh.
Tenebrae woo-hooed some more at a second verse, and beat the drums in a hepcat's cra-a-zy beat. Man.
Jaidin was finished singing; but before he'd gone for another drink or anything of the sort, Terra'd wrapped her arms around one of his, and the pair jumped about like right idiots enjoying the time. Laughing and out of breath by the time the song -was- finished... he called out a little red-faced to Tene, "Sing it! I'll drum."
Terra encouraged Tene's song with cheers and claps and various other loud, encouraging things.
Tenebrae tossed her bongos at Jaidin.
Terra , like the decent "girlfriend" she was, mixed Jaidin a drink and offered it to him as he made moves to take over the drumming.
Jaidin caught the hand drums like any drunk would-- after a lot of fumbling and near-dropping. Laughing, he sat his rump down and pulled Terra onto his lap, settling the bongos onto hers, so he could play by reaching around her.
Tenebraecleared her throat and took up a dramatic pose. Fancy, Tene doing that. And started singing.. "A one-eyed Jack rode to Venturil in the heat of the blazing sun...When the Uber-Mage saw him ridin' in, he strapped on his fast wand....The Uber-Mage didn't trust the one eyed Jack nor the deadly smile he wore....An' when that night he shamed Louisa, in vengeance that Mage he swore." She'd do a little jig while waiting for the next verse to come 'round.
Terra shoulda seen the one-eyed refrences comin'.
Jaidin definitely appreciated the drink; he'd need both hands to drum though, as he was rather a ferocious beater. Cough. Eyebrow raised as he questioned if she'd pour the drink down his throat, for him. Then to Tene he looked. Hands slapped the hide quick and hard, occasional sliding going on and sometimes he'd miss the drum entirely, but he had a fun time setting out a very quick, gypsy-like pace for the vampiress; he did eye her carefully at first, in case she wanted a different kind of beat.
Jaidin makes it more of a poetic type beat, once he heard the woman start.
Tenebrae continued, after doing a somewhat suggestive dance 'round the sail-pole. "Ten cracks of the mages's whip cut deep. The pain-filled Jack, he cursed.... "You'd better kill me while you can or I will get you first."...The angry Mage raised his wand butt high, then smashed Jack's own wand-hand....."You're done for now, you one-eyed Jack, you will kill no other man."..."
Terra wolf-whistled at Tene's antics, all the while treating herself to Jaidin's drink while he drummed on her.
Tenebrae sang on, after winking at Terra as she danced by. "The creaky iron doors slammed shut tight. The one-eyed Jack was jailed....With Louisa's help he soon escaped for his true love had not failed.....The horses rode off with the lovers two as the smokin' wands did burst.....The Mage aimed his wand at the one-eyed Jack, but the one-eyed Jack shot first." She made a rather obscene gesture to go with that line. Cover your eyes, kids.
Jaidin went on merrily laughing and beating, and tried to get sips of the drink from over Terra's shoulders.
Terra gave Jaidin mouth-to-mouth, his oxygen the drink. Lifeguard of the year, alright.
Tenebrae snatched a rum off the floor and took a swig, before launching into the last verse. Her gaze was pointedly on Jaidin. "Beware of the one-eyed Jacks, especially if they're wild....One-eyed Jacks are deadly, even when they smile....Never trust a one-eyed Jack with his cold, cold heart of stone....He will only show one side to you, for his soul is the devil's own."
Terra blushed madly but cheered Tene on with rambuctious applause and continous whistles and winks. "You're the best, Tene! Should show 'em how it's done at the Corpse."
Tenebrae collapsed on the deck to catch her breath, on her behind, not too far from the booze. Of course.
Terra would have quieted down by the time of the last verse, curiously silent... Hmmm.
Tenebrae said, "That's my lot, Terra, no more singin'. "
Jaidin pulled away from the kiss at the last words of Tenebrae's song, his mood suddenly sobered... somewhat, I mean, you really can't dampen that kind of drunk, that much. In this state he wasn't sure what to make of the lyrics, only that they were definitely to him. About him. He then looked at Terra carefully, to see what she made of those words.
Terra opted not to think. To not respond. Isn't that what the pair did best? As opposed to dwelling on such a thing, she'd claim yet another bottle and salute Tene with it before a hearty swing was taken. "My hat's off to you. Think I'll... well, I'll call it a night."
Tenebrae said to Terra, "Did ye know... " Perhaps that dancing made the rum circulate faster. ".. that we have a queen in our midst?" Rupaul shot her an iguana-glare, but Tene was looking at Siayah. "A Goddess, no less."
Saiyah coughed and sputtered her rum all over her chest at the metion of her 'royalty'. Terra focused on Siayah, tad confused. Terra didn't know the naga nor her status. "Oh? I didn't know that, I'm afraid. I need to... meet all these new people."
Terra said to Saiyah, "Goddess of...?"
Jaidin shrugged it off, and instead found his drink that'd he'd gotten earlier since Terra nabbed the one she made him, and raised it up. "Here, here, Leader." Quietly, he'd ask Terra, "Uh, want me to walk you home?"
Tenebrae would save the story for another night. "Terra, don't be such a stranger, hear? I'll bring the clan about for another gathering soon enough."
Terra said to Tenebrae, "Same for you. Vacationing in Hell isn't as much fun without your friends. Always fun to hear you sing, though really... you must explain your songs next time."
Tenebrae said to Saiyah, "And we're due for another trip." She winked. "I want Cabal to become sole trader of that monkey-poison."
Terra grinned, scanning the note and storing it away - she's a packrat. "I'm sure that's a load of fun. Well, it was a pleasure, of course. I'll be seeing you."
Saiyah grinned- as if Tenebrae had once again read her mind.
Tenebrae gave Terra an innocent blink. "I'll give the Chitterling your love."
Terra nodded at Jaidin, ingesting another bit of rum. "If you wouldn't mind. Uhm, please, that is."
Terra shuddered at the mention of that damned Chitterling and managed to polish off that bottle. "Beast, that damned beast!" The rest was mumbles.
Tenebrae leaned back against the nearest mast -- the one furthest from that flapping bit of sail, and gazed out to sea. "You too Jaidin. We need able hands..." She slid a glance his way. "On more than just our bongos."
Jaidin nodded and then rose, scooting himself from underneath Terra and then helping her up, if she hadn't already risen. "Point the way." He was relieved to get out of there, but thought that maybe he'd come back, after. "I'll see you all soon," he said to whoever felt like listening. Then, waited on Terra to be certain she was ready to leave
Jaidin said to Tenebrae, "We doing this when I get back, or some other night?"
Tenebrae said to Jaidin, "We need a full crew. We'll see, aye?"
Terra decided that walking wasn't for her, and instead steadied herself against Jaidin's back. With that accomplished, the vampiress would climb up him until settled there, legs wrapped about his waist as to not be bucked off. "Where do you sleep? Can I sleep there? The Chitterling and all, you know." Translation - she wasn't quite coherent enough to navigate her way through the forests of Sage.
Jaidin nodded. "Well, you know where to find me. Oh... Atticus!" he then hissed. The snake knew full-well it was time to go, and stopped chitting with the iguanas. Sheepishly it s-pattern-slithered along the floorboards and up Traye's leg, and into the side-bag that was slung over his shoulders.
Terra allowed Asher his freedom. Like she could honestly dissuade the nutcase from doing what he wanted.
Tenebrae's iguana looked a bit depressed, and set about cheering itself by painting its toenails magenta. Because it was.. a stylish... iguana.
Terra will miss Rupaul.
Jaidin blinked as Terra crawled onto his back-- he'd be all manly and carry her in his arms... but likely would fall. Back was better so he could steady himself on trees as they walked. Chuckling quietly, he nodded. "Aye, Silly Girl. 'S'in Xalious." And with that, assuming all's been said to them that was needed, he carefully headed down the plank that went back to land.
Terra waved as she departed. And she'd continue to wave, even when out of sight.
Saiyah was laying on the ground- dazed as she looked to the skies. Seems the sail had clocked her once again while everyone was busy singing and dancing.
Tenebrae looked at Saiyah. "I think we need to check on the Corpse..."
Saiyah nodded and tried hard to sit back up.
Tenebrae managed to raise herself as well. "My poor pub..." She shook her head. "I think I need to get it back into shape..."
Saiyah belly flopped over the edge.
