Isen stalks quietly down the path, his tattooed face wrinkled deepy in thought. Those feral eyes look almost sad as they cast back and forth in the pitch black forest. One hand drifts absently over the disk on his chest, while the other scratches irritably at the black thorn inked onto his shoulder.
Deilakrion had been standing on the path quietly, her eyes directed northward at some hidden thought. Soft, almost imperceptible noise behind her caused the wolfish woman to turn and regard this new interloper. "You. Tentative hunter." She identified him, greeting him with a flicker of fingers as her eyes took on a whole new cast of thoughtfulness.
Isen seems slightly startled - and...relieved? - to see Deilakrion, and he halts a few paces from her, the corners of his lips twisting upward in a humorless smile. "Creature. It is good that you are here. I must speak with you."
Deilakrion tilted her head to the side, waiting.
Isen said to Deilakrion, "The pack. It needs leadership, which I cannot provide. I find myself too busy with other duties to lead our bretheren. You must help. Find Leo, and the White Wolf. f you can bring those two in, our pack will be unstoppable."
Deilakrion tossed her head, uneasy. "This creature lead?" She scoffed, eyebrows rising.
Isen nods once, his face twisting wryly; it is obvious that the male lycan dislikes this entire prospect. "Yes. For now. Leo will help, if you can but get him to join."
Deilakrion stared hard at Isen. "Why would the sky predator lead when you will not?"
Isen shrugs his shoulders, irritation kicking in to disguise the regret in his voice. "Is Leo the sky predator? If so, then because he is better suited to it. Because he has been a wolf far longer than I have. There are numerous reasons..."
Deilakrion's lips twisted wryly. "Have you tried asking?" It was obvious the prospect was bothering the skinny woman, as her eyes jittered away from Isen and into the woods. "This creature knows not the pack. Or territory." She muttered as if in regret, and she sighed.
Isen shakes his head, and sighs as well. "He is rarely around when I look for him. As for the pack...it consists of only you, Sophie, and myself. Raggor and Rajnish have been slain. Our territory spans the entirity of this forest."
Responsibility was a heavy burden. Deilakrion was learning this, and struggling to change fast enough to keep up with her new roles in life. It was difficult, but she was a stubborn one, if rather set in her ways. "Good." The news that she was not missing any pack members seemed to cheer the woman somewhat. "Den?"
Isen 's hand leaves the disk for a moment to point to the northeast. "Just over that way. Come with me." He sets off at a brisk pace, obviously expecting Deilakrion to follow.
Den of Lycans
Deilakrion entered into the place, tentative and slow. Her nostrils flared as she scented it out, and an approving gleam entered her eyes. She nodded. "Very well. What place in the pack will you occupy, tentative hunter?"
Isen sighs, tapping a finger against his chin as he looks around the den. "I will take the...Beta position. Any who wish to deny me that may fight me for it."
Deilakrion nodded again. "Very well. You will keep me updated of any 'wolves you find." Oh, how easily she took up that mantle, and how difficult it would be for her to keep it. She eyed the new beta wolf. "I would ask you to place an ad upon the boards of the taverns. This creature. . ." and here she paused, disgust twisting her features a brief moment, ". . .cannot write well. Ask that all wolf lycans contact Isen or Deilakrion. We will go from there."
Isen nods once, and starts toward the door. "I will do so. But be warned, many will answer who do not deserve the gift they have been given. If you allow them to join, I will kill them." It would seem that the beta still holds on to some of his arrogance.
Deilakrion grunted. "Let me handle it, beta." She turned from him then, back rigid.
Isen stalks out the door without another word, likely headed to the taverns to carry out the alpha's request.
Deilakrion sighed, brow wrinkling. She would have to exert command now, and what a lonely task that would prove to be. How the hell -had- she gotten into this, anyways?
