Off the coast of Cenril is the hulking wreck of a ship. Some odd force here has killed all the birds in the vicinity, en masse-- causing thousands of the dead creatures to fall into the ocean, many bereft of the feathers that now clog the sea.
On board, there's a weird sense of --something-- not right, and the stairwell leading down to the hold is dark and obviously the source of these ominous vibes.
Below deck, nothing is as it seems.
Rather than a ship's belly, those who venture here are lost in an apparently endless maze, which some percieve as white-walled, black-paved labyrinthine path. Others find only darkness, or delusion.
One thing is for certain-- it has a strange effect on those who enter, a kind of warping of the self into an "alternate" version.
So, a vampire may well be a human, as though never sired.
A naga may discover what life could have been like with two legs.
A powerful creature gains an abrupt reminder of what it was like to be weak and vulnerable.
Who knows what can happen? Or... why? The oddly-shaped stones on the pathways are a clue to who and what is responsible for this anomaly.
For they much resemble the shape of the massive blocks that form the dread Headquarters of the Eldritch Cabal...
DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN.
Many thanks to Deila for kicking this off. <3
