Portea is wandering off towards the south, actually following his companion, who happens to be in search of food. The psion's vaporous gaze traces the dragon's path through the air as he swoops down to catch one of the larger rodents. Mnementh pulls out of the dive and eats the morsel in one bite, having grown considerably since he first hatched a couple months ago.
Isen's form soon becomes visible, emerging from the night close to Portea, his steps as silent as the wolf whose form he so often takes. What he is doing out here is really anyone's guess. But, it must not be too important, as he stops to offer a rasped, "Greetings," to the psion.
Portea turns slightly and offers the man a friendly smile. "Hello, Isen... It's been a while." He replies softly, that ever present enigma quality in his voice insuring its arrival to not only the man's ears, but also his conscious mind. The screech of a protesting owl rings out in the night air as Mnementh dives down to retrieve yet another small furry creature.
Isen nods in agreement, casting his gaze out to the young dragon. "Indeed it has. What brings you and your...friend out here this night, if I might ask?"
Portea shrugs ever so slightly, his somber gaze still following his winged friend. "Just hunting, I suppose... Though searching new areas is always good." He replies quietly before turning to the man. "And you?"
Isen grins, the soft moonlight illuminating sharp teeth coated with drying blood. "Oh, much the same, I suppose. Looking for any area in particular? Perhaps I can help."
Portea laughs softly and shakes his head. "No, no area in particular, thanks for the offer, though." Mnementh's ever changing gaze is suddenly drawn towards the southwest, locking onto the remnants of what appears to be a tower. ~We still need to find a location for the Eyrie, right?~ He projects into the psion's mind. The man blinks a few times before looking back to his companion. "Umm, yeah... Do you see someth..." He doesn't even bother to finish the question, for his own eyes fall upon the spire on the horizon. "Know much about that area?" He inquires softly, pointing towards the tower.
Isen frowns, glancing toward the distant tower. He shakes hs head, and says, "Can't say as I do. I know that the Pool is over near there. Caedan took me there once. Apart from that, though, I haven't explored much."
Portea tilts his head slightly and just keeps staring in that direction. "You up for a bit of exploring now, then?" He asks, obviously wanting to check it out for some odd reason. Mnementh glances back at the psion and gives him a toothy grin before starting to fly in that direction. ~Meet you there.~
Isen nods again, and immediately breaks into an steady lope, the sort of pace suited to one who is used to jogging long distances. He does look back over his shoulder, though, to make sure that his companion is keeping up.
Portea chuckles quietly to himself before starting to run after them, only stopping once they reach their intended target. "Well... It'd need some work, but, all in all, I think we may have found our home, Mnementh." The psion says, gazing up at the tower as his bronze companion takes a closer look at the higher areas. ~I think you might be right.~
Isen eyes the tower up and down, mild curiosity showing on his face. He glances over to Potea, and raises a questioning eyebrow.
Portea casts a sidelong glance at Isen before realizing that he hasn't exactly explained much. "Oh! I think this would be a great place to have the Eyrie." He says, smiling as he pictures the finished product.
Isen surveys the tower once more, then asks, "The Eyrie? And what might that be?"
Portea can't help but smile as he elaborates. "It's the Cabal's flying army, so to speak. With winged mounts like dragons, gryphons, pegasi, and who knows what else."
Isen nods again, tapping his chin in thought. "That would indeed be useful. Should you require my aid in any way, do let me know. I think I shall stick to the ground, myself, though."
Portea nods as he gazes back up at the spire, tilting his head as he thinks for a few moments. "Well, it's going to need a fair amount of work to get it into working order... and exploring before that might be a good idea."
Isen said to you, "Indeed. Best to make sure that it is secure."
Portea sighs softly and looks for some stairs, finding none. "Indeed... And while Mnementh may be ready to carry me, I don't want to put that to the test just yet.. Know of any ways to get up?"
Isen subsides into thoughtful silence for a long moment, then nods. "I can make stairs. But I will not have the strength to climb them afterwards."
Portea tilts his head for a brief moment before shaking it. "No, that wouldn't be good. The finished product isn't going to have stairs, anyways. Hmmm."
Isen shrugs. "I can form hand- and foot holds, if you're up for a climb." His hand drifts lovingly across the disk strapped to his chest.
Portea thinks for a moment before nodding. "That'd work, just so long as it doesn't take too much out of you."
Isen nods once more and concentrates, allowing his will to flow into the Chaos weapon. Slowly, but steadily, pits begin to form in the rock wall, leading in a straight path to the top. As soon as the last one is created, he sags back, weakened, yet exhilarated. He grins, and says, "After you, then," his voice even more harsh than usual.
Portea smiles at the sight before nodding. "Thank you." He says softly before starting the long climb up, quite excited to see what lies within. Mnementh, having lost his patience a little while after seeing the tower, is already inside of it, exploring on his own.
Isen starts his own ascent shortly after Portea, knuckles whitening as he pulls himself up the vertical stone surface.
Portea peers into any windows that he can, finding floor after floor of nothing, perfect for remodeling, since it leaves less to destroy.
Isen finds a suitable ledge, and settles himself there to wait for Portea; the lycan is obviously more fatigued by the magic than he lets on.
Portea pulls himself onto the highest possible landing and waits for the lycan, offering a hand to help pull him up, if need be. "Well... It might need more work than I thought.." He comments to no one in particular.
Isen, after a moment's breather, clambers the rest of the way up. "Work? What kind of work are you looking at?"
Portea takes a look around for a few moments. "Well, stopping it from crumbling away would be nice... Making it more enclosed, no windows except on the very top, clear out the lower floors and make individual quarters for mounts and riders so that they can fly in and out through the top. Hmm, well, that's the general idea, specifics can be gone over once I figure them out."
Isen smiles rather wearily, and nods his head. "I can help. In fact, given time, I could do all of that, and form it into a seamless block of stone. But it will take a week or so to complete..."
Portea blinks a few times before suddenly smiling. "That would be wonderful... But you don't have to do it alone if you don't want to. I mean, time isn't much of an issue, since there isn't too great of a rush, but that'd be a lot of work for one person."
Isen pats the disk strapped to his chest, and grins. "This allows me to do wonderful things with stone. Though perhaps I will leave the stalls to you and your team...that way you can build them according to your specific requirements."
Portea chuckles quietly and nods. "Well, I don't exactly have a team, at the moment, but I'm sure we'll figure something out."
Isen nods, and moves to the makeshift ladder. "Very good then. I shall start work in the morning. The demolition should be the easy part..."
Portea nods in return. "That would be greatly appreciated. If you need or want any help, just let me know, and I'll lend a hand or find someone more skilled than myself to help out."
Isen begins climbing down, calling out, "Very well. I will talk to you as soon as I've made noticeable progress."
Portea starts to climb down after him. "Alright, I look forward to seeing your work." He replies softly before departing. Mnementh, apparently bored with exploring the crumbling tower, soars high above.
