((I figured this was the most approriate place to include this since it involved several Cabal members (plus a few extras!) and was based on two of the shops in Cenril.))
---HANGING CORPSE TAVERN---
Terra was peering over several papers that were strewn over the counter top. A cup of cooling coffee sat near her elbow, a dangerous position for it, to be sure. "Hmm, three guards -lumpy." A finger was tapped against her chin in thought, unruly hair tapered to her forehead with the first signs of persperation likely due to her nervous state. "Lots of stuff though. Ghosts can't carry things."
Portea meanders into the Hanging Corpse without any real reason. His vaporous gaze sweeps the confines only to land on the one familiar face in the joint --Terra--, and thusly proceeds to walk over to her. "Hey, stranger." His says softly, that ever present enigma quality in his voice insuring not only its arrival to her ears, but also into her conscious mind, as well.
Sophie enters the now familiar tavern and smiles warmly to that two of her clans mates are there, she heads over to where Terra is peering over a large plan or chart of some description. A wide grin spreads across her face. "You planning something Terra, my dear, mind if I join in?"
Hume enters quietly, and closes the distance to the bar with a few long strides, content to watch the other patrons in order to gather what is transpiring.
Terra flipped the map over and revealed another, careful not to smear the still-drying ink 'pon the large parchment. "Hi," murmured in her distant tone, not really directed at either of the two who greeted her. "Planning? ...people!" Finally, she'd look away from the pages at hand and up at the two present, glad to see they were Cabal. A wry smile stretches her lips, eyes sparkling with mischief and the lingering traces of madness. "You can lift things, too." With familiar fingers she'd point to her studies, gesturing to the name of the location at the top of the page, and then gesturing to the entrances. "We..." she lowers her voice, whispering to them with confidence. "Are going to steal this stuff."
Terra eyes Hume suspiciously.
Sophie: it is not out of character for Sophie; she is a good person and a gentle healer, but she just doesn't much care about property in the least, so doesn't think she hurts anyone much if she helps her clan steal some.
Portea blinks a few times and glances down at the page. "Well, if you say so, I've nothing better to do." Replies the psion rather nonchalantly, obviously not caring one way or another about stealing.
Hume narrows his eyes, midway through a swallow from a mug of ale, as Terra peers at him. He holds the stare.
Sophie sees Terra’s suspicious look at Hume. "It is ok,” she tells Terra. “I would trust Hume, here, with my life!”
Hume lowers the mug, licking off his lips and approaches the table of conspirators. His eyes flash with amusement and he cranes his neck to try to catch a glimpse of the spread parchment. He quirks the corner of his mouth in a smile, "What nefarious deeds are afoot?"
Eilyo gracefully saunters into the tavern, pausing just inside the door to peer around. A polite smile graces her full, ruby red lips as her light moss eyes fall upon those present. Her silent, graceful steps carry her slender form over to the bar, the woman speaking loud enough to be heard. "Can I get anyone anything?"
Hume smiles brightly at Eilyo, glancing away momentarilly from the secretive and pensive Terra, and asks, "Pixie beer, all round for the house, and keep them coming!" In a more hushed tone, "I've a feeling there's much plotting to be accomplished tonight!"
Terra would stare at Hume, even as he had approached and Sophie had vouched for his character. "I'm going to be a thief - arg." With a wrinkled brow she'll point to the entrances, marked by a green color. "There are two guards, fairly easy to distract but they're big. On this one," The page was flipped over to reveal another, similair map. "This is the other one, right next door. Obviously, we'll have to move quick to get to both of them. The owner should be leaving and closing shop in ten minutes."
Terra was sure to lower her voice so that only the two near to her would hear. No offense to Eilyo, but the secretive Terra was absolutely paranoid of who would learn of their plans.
Eilyo blinks a few times, nodding. "Alright." She steps behind the bar, grabbing four glasses, filling them with the requested drink, setting them on the bar-top. "Just let me know when ya need more."
Sophie peers and the plans, trying to make sure she understands Terra's plan correctly. “So who is going to distract the guards?”
Leoxander would kind of stumble in, his arm buckled close to his side as though injured, but once he catches himself on the table he's able to shrug his unbuttoned duster over his stiff shoulders, ink and fading fur seen across his chest and stomach beneath, while it remains unbuttoned. A smear of red is painted across his unshaven chin, evident when he finally lifts his head, though a shag of blonde still hides his pained eyes. There is no Jack following him in this time. No, the dog waits loyally aboard the Eternity because frankly, the dog can't climb and has no other choice.
Hume leans over the solid wooden table with the mysterious documents spread atop it. Contemplating the drawings depicted in a scratchy hand, he tilts his head to view the layout. Glancing sidelong at Terra, he says inquiringly, "I do not recognise the floorplan. What shop is this?"
Terra surpressed the urge to beckon Leoxander over. The poor man looked like he had been through enough for one night. Instead, she'd bite her lip and shrug towards Sophie. "I'm not sure if we should distract them or disable them altogether. Probably both."
Hume nods slowly at Terra's whisper and says somewhat dispassionately, marking the positions of the guards with light taps of his taloned fingers, "No need to turn this into a murder. That would complicate things and be somewhat inelegant besides." He draws his fingers across the map to a corner of the building, "Perhaps a diversion to draw them both here, then we can be assured of overcoming them both, without chance for one to raise an alarm." He pauses, "Now, what could draw two guardsmen over on a cold, dark night..." His eyes drift to Terra.
Terra bit into her bottom lip at the mention of murder, eyes wide. "We ... won't kill them, of course. I ... couldn't." Says the female plotting to rob places of their hard-earned profits and merchandise. However, she'd follow along with Hume's suggestion, arching a single brow when the male turned to her as if she was the answer to his previous question. "I could... lure them there. Maybe even knock out one."
Leoxander had apparently just undergone a transformation, obvious by his hesitation to join the crowd, particularly the timid one of the bunch. A few heavy pants for breath and Leo regains his dignity, if not his control, and moves in search of a cure for what ails him. He secures the strap of a buckle that holds knives against his bare ribs, and adjusts the long leather jacket securely over his inked shoulders so that most of his tattoos are concealed, then crosses the room barefooted to retrieve a pair of muddy boots waiting beside the stairs. The rogue takes a seat near the bottom to pull them on and lace them tight. He doesn't appear to be evesdropping on the conversation, or paying attention to anything beyond himself, but Leo doesn't miss much in his surroundings.
Sophie listens as Hume explains his idea the young elf is obviously very excited she hugs Terra and Hume too, glances towards Leo, and decides that the loner would not appreciate a hug. "What can I do?" she asks a wide grin on her face
Hume nods at Terra's assessment of the situation and looks bemusedly satisfied at the mention of a knockout, then turns to Sophie. He notes her eagerness and says in hushed tones, "We will need a lookout, certainly, to make certain the Cenril guardsmen don't pay us a wandering visit. Then while Terra lures the sentries to me, you should slip inside and make certain no suprises await us." He looks back to the theif, asking, "I'm assuming their locks and wards will pose no barrier to your skills?"
Terra was careful to hide her maps and the like from spying eyes- even Leoxander's. The pirate was shot a guilty look before Terra winked at Sophie and her excitement.
Terra blinked, looking between Hume and Sophie. "He's in on it?" A careful glance was spared for Leoxander.
Hume looks up from where he leans with both arms spread gripping the table's edge to give Leo an appraising glance. His remarks go to Terra, "This is your design, you are free to recruit who you choose. Besides, the fellow looks as if he could use a copper or two to get those boots shined."

Sophie nods to Hume, still overflowing with excitement, Ok so first I am a lookout and warn you of anything untoward, then I slip inside and check the cost is clear, I think if anyone is waiting in there I can just act lost and sweet and innocent and hopefully they won't realise what I was up to
Terra said to Leoxander, "Busy tonight...? Or will you buy us dinner?"
Leoxander heard every single comment. Even Hume's. But he still doesn't give them any interest. Not at the mention of 'copper', anyhow. Once his boots are secure, he stands again, drifting heterochromatic eyes over Terra and her 'gang', and taking note of the expression she masked herself with. The hint of a smirk touches his blood smeared face, just as he makes his way behind the bar to find a bottle of some private stock. "Come on, Miss. You can do better'n that..." This is the only quiet remark he will make upon biting out a cork from a square glass bottle, labeled in black.
Aerindir appears from the north.
Leoxander picked up a thick glass tumbler from behind the bar, ignoring the deadly looks Steadmen might be offering. His free hand scratches into the back of his unkempt hair as he pours himself at least two or three shots worth. At least he's trying to be human enough to use a glass, this time.
Sophie sorry What is the posting order?
Hume casts a worried look at the sleepless Sophie, full of boundless energy though she is, he worries that she will have the stillness of nerves needed for her post of stealth. As the many hundred pounds of Naga slither into the bar, Hume's grin widens for every ounce. Turning to Terra he cannot help but say, "Oh, now truly, we must get Saiyah involved in this. Imagine the wealth of treasure she could carry away!"
Naoko appears from the north.
Terra nodded towards Hume, and then sat in silence for a moment. Terra, also known as Miss Mercy, had never before committed an act of such a nature, but it was the time to do something out of the ordinary. "Right, Soph - you're the lookout. Hume, you'll disarm and render the men unconscious. I'm ... bait." Everything was a whisper, until she caught Leoxander's look. Unfortunately, with his position behind the bar, he was too near to her and her drawn ideas 'pon the large pieces of parchment. From her perch on the counter she'd beckon him near, eyeing his face. "It's for the benefit of the entire clan. You'll get your share, as I would expect no less. You've -ah - got something on your face." The vampiress turned away at that, avoiding temptation. "It'd be better to clean it before going out to dinner with us."
Terra said to Saiyah, "Say Sai, want to go to dinner with us?" The vampiress beckons the naga closer, and should she come, Terra will whisper the true agenda to her."
Terra was attempting to maintain this dinner story for those ears that weren't meant to understand the underlying idea.
Naoko vanished before your eyes, perhaps never to be seen again.
Saiyah had just woken up- so when she heard her name mentioned, and was approached by Terra, she was a bit taken aback. Blinking, the naga scratched her nose while she reluctantly slithered forwards; something was odd. Dinner? Who went to dinner in these lands?
Eilyo glances around at the growing number of people, pouring more of the glasses of pixie beer that Hume had ordered. After setting the glasses on the bar-top, the woman leans against the bar with a sigh. She closed her eyes, deciding to keep herself completely ignorant to whatever was being plotted.
Eilyo dropped 8 pixie beer.
Hume strokes his scaled chin between thumb and forefinger, his eyes on the druid Eyren. The wheels of thought spin in his saurian mind, trying to determine a method to rope the otherwise kind and gentle healer into this dastardly plot. After a moment, he calls out to her, "I say, good druidess. What would you do if I told you two otherwise innocent guardsmen might suffer a blow to the head ... over dinner ... in Cenril this evening?"
Leoxander was beckoned, but he wasn't like Jack. He didn't always come. A swipe of the back of his hand across his whiskered face, and he'd take that tumbler of three shots worth like a single, swallowing it hard. The glass was replaced in a bored way, clearly needing far less secrecy than Terra tried for. He took his precious time before nearing, but he didn't necessarily have to be an arm's reach away to see and hear what she was talking about. His senses were pretty sharp and he had a general idea of what was going on, and how nervous the merciful one was. For the benefit of the clan, huh? Well, Leo was listening. Go on...
Sophie smiles at Saiyah. She has forgiven her friend for the crossbow incident...Come join us for er....dinner”, she calls to the naga happily!
Hume picks up a frosty mug and raises it briefly in a toast of thanks to Eilyo, who has kept the tingling brew flowing so freely for all comers.
Hume picked up 1 pixie beer.
Terra grinned as Hume attempted to recruit Eyren, and leaned in to fill in Saiyah on the plans being made.
Terra whispered to Saiyah, "We're planning a heist for the weapon and armor shop in Cenril. Likely we'll take away enough of the armor and the like, alongside with the gold from the sales, to cover the entire clan. I feel like we're going to need it, with the way the lands are today. We could use your help... are you in?"
Aerindir ceases moving after he's inside the tavern, so that he can look around quite casually, and see who exactly is present. Only when he's recognized a couple of the people here, does he then relax, softened footsteps the only sound made as the elven male draws closer. But, he does not seek to impose himself on the group at large just yet, and instead stands, body resting now against a chair as he waits, likely to be spoken to.
Leoxander narrowed his eyes faintly at the 'innocent' vampire. Terra, for clarification.
Eyren Had been pensively staring in to the dancing flames that kept the roaring inviting, the lushly upholstered armchair a welcome embrace after what seemed to have been endless hours upon her feet; seeming always in a hurry to rush from point A to point B. She was snapped away from her thoughts by the sound of that-all-too familiar voice. Turning slowly, she'd chance a curious glance in Hume's direction, wondering exactly what he was on about. "Do you play the part of soothsayer tonight?" she quips, with a slight lifting of her mouth.
Saiyah gave Terra a dead stare. Blank in the face and silent in body movement; she didn't really look to enthralled about something. So, reaching into her satchel, she slips out a quill and some paper, resting it atop the table nearby so that she could jot out a quick note. Her hand writing was bad- she just woke up, but when all was said and done, a note was held out for Terra to take.
Saiyah gave 1 Blank parchment to you.
Saiyah told you, "~The note reads..~ Dinner. Your cover up is we're all going out to dinner? Oh yeah, because Cabal always has a monday evening dinner party~ Yes, I'm in."
Saiyah grins.
Terra was the ring-leader of it all, surprisingly, and so she would turn to study Leoxander for a moment. The vampiress remained unsure if it was the mention of clan or his own profit that lured him near, but Terra knew quite well for this to be successful they would need Leoxander. Despite his aloofness, and the cheeks that were stained in blood, she'd lean in. She needed this to be covert and not traced back to her - it was hard enough fathoming her current position in all of this. "Dinner will be in Cenril tonight, you know... I figured we could look at the armor and weapon shops near there. The clan needs them, and if I could get a general price on all of them, I may be able to buy enough to support the clans’ needs, and future recruits. Something is coming and I'm sure we'll need to be prepared. Besides, I'm sure they earn plenty of gold," a single finger gestured to the outline of where they stored the gold on the sketched outlines of the stores. "And they won't mind giving us a discount for such a .. large purchase."
Terra winked at Saiyah after reading over the note left in her lap. "We all get ... hungry." A quick look is spared for Leoxander's chin, where traces of something lingered.
Hume strides from the nest of would-be-burglars gathered about their maps and devices, leaving Terra to tempt the Naga. He passes before the roaring flames to cast a long shadow on Eyren before moving to her side, leaning on the back of the chair in which she rests. His words are a confident purr, "My prognosticative capabilities are in rare form tonight." He sweeps one hand out before himself and the druid, inviting her to imagine the scene, "A dark night in Cenril, not a soul on the streets. Two honest, hard working, silver-a-day guardsmen lie crumpled in the gutter. If only someone were there to tend to their undeserved wounds!"
Leoxander tilts his head back, not quite enough to dodge Terra's reach, but enough to look down his nose at her with mellowed, mismatched eyes. He reaches without looking for the bottle, fingers wrapping around the neck of it, and a hint of a smirk is still visible at one corner of his blood and rum stained mouth. Fortunately, he's had a bath, recently. Blame Tenebrae. "Get to the point, doll. I got a date with the sea before the full moon hits. Can we get this done with quick so I can get the hell out of here?" Still smiling, waiting her answer, he'd take another swig of his rum... this time without the glass.
Terra cracks her knuckles at Leoxander's smirk. Yes, she was quite the merciful one of the bunch, but this would be done and Leo would be involved - Mercy be damned. She'd smile, nod towards his rum. "If you're in, I'll keep an endless stock of that on hand for you. Free of charge. You'll get your fair share of ... food, of course. Just say yes --doll--, and we'll be fine."
Terra realized that both of the buildings could be hit at once and would beckon Aerindir over, excitement washing over her. This would work!
Eyren would lean deeper in to the inviting velvet upholstery, her eyes cast up to meet the blanketing shadow cast by Hume; disturbing the fires track to her goose fleshed skin. rubbing her hands absently over her arms she listens avidly to the scene Hume described; it not taking long for that warm sensation to settle in to her palms, then the whole of her hands. Hurt? Was he eluding to the fact that somewhere someone was hurt? How long had it been since she'd been set to act nurse to another's injuries? It had been too long, and the knowing of this erupted through her frame; had her steeling herself not to jump from her seat right then and there and drag Hume to show her where .. where there was another that had need of the gift so recently bestowed upon her. "You know this ... to be fact oh silver-tongued one?" She asks, her eyes narrowing ever-so-slightly.
Aerindir moves away from the chair which he'd been leaning on, standing fully again after Terra has beckoned him close. Reaching the female then, he just waits for her to speak, interested in what his fellow cabal member has to say.
Aerindir moves away from the chair which he'd been leaning on, standing fully again after Terra has beckoned him close. Reaching the female then, he just waits for her to speak, interested in what his fellow cabal member has to say.
Terra said to Saiyah, "Can you tell our friend here," A hand is waved towards Aerindir, "What the menu will be for dinner tonight? I'm still trying to get Leo to pay for it all."
Terra winked at Eilyo, trying to console the female. She knew it couldn't be easy to feel like she was leftout of the Cabals schemes.
Saiyah again, gives Terra a dead stare. Yeah, she could totally 'tell' him was was going on. Eyes rolling and her head shaking, Saiyah gets to work on a small note for the man. Just a small one, she didn't feel like writing at the moment.
Leoxander said, "Mind healin' someone's eye after the ceremony?" He'd ask off hand, finding the cork on the bar to stuff it back into the bottle. The rogue found his satchel stashed somewhere under the stairs, probably a loose board, and he'd get himself fairly armored from the ragged stuff he was in now, without really changing his clothing. Weapons were stocked, not many, as he relied on what fate brought him to work with, now. "Can't wait to tell Jack he's got his sausage supply. He's always wanted that yanno..." This was the remark he'd toss sarcastically over his shoulder as he stabbed one of twin blades into a sheath in his vest, leather, and painted with a dark skull and cross bones on the back. "Better be somethin' good involved in all this...."
Hume drinks in the excitement bounding in Eyren's form at the mention of healing to be done, but reaches out a steadying hand to her shoulder, the scales of his palm cool on her fire-baked flesh. "Not yet, dear healer, however if you'd be so good as to accompany our growing band of gourmands to dinner, I have the oddest feeling that something unpleasant might be in store for the security detail at a certain mercantile this evening. What say you?"
Terra stared after Leoxander... The inside of her cheek was bit into as Terra fought to refrain from commenting on his latest off-the-wall commentary. With reflief, she'd not that Leoxander had not rejected her and so she would attempt to have some fun to lighten the heavy cloud that lurked above. "You'll get to spend time with me?" Eyeslashes fluttered and all - she was trying to get him to smile.
Terra then blinked, stared at Leo for a moment, and nodded. "I'll heal whoever you'd like... What happened with their eye, exactly?"
Eilyo sent a slight wave towards Terra, using the idle time to get lost in her thoughts, which perhaps wasn't the best idea. She was frowning deeply, yes, but not from feeling left out. Her sadness was spawning from an altogether different reason.
Eyren shifted uneasily beneath Hume's light grip, something akin to intuition prickling at the periphery of her consciousness. Something was amiss in his request; something in the manner in which the invitation to dinner had been extended. Questions crowded behind her lips, yet she clamped them down and looked beyond him to the dancing flames for a moment; one lost fingernail beating out a restless tattoo at the soft underflesh of her wrist. "Nothing ... too bad I hope. Simply ... dinner yes?" She did not look at him then, she wanted him to give her an answer, and not read beyond it in his eyes
Leoxander would continue to glare at the floor for now. "Minor training accident." A lighthearted shrug, maybe he should stop hitting girls... but did fighting lessons count? "Am I gonna need a bow? Cause hell if I know where mine went."
Aerindir reads the note, and after making sure to fold it up first, is considering the best way to burn it. While this is pondered, he's saying to Terra, "Dinner in Cenril.. that sounds like it'll be an enjoyable time. I'd love to join you." As he says this, the ranger, always so inept with the basic elemental magicks, finally manages to ignite it, succeeding only in making the words unreadable, before the flames die out.
Leoxander pushed up to his feet with an odd look toward Terra. No killing? This was going to be one of those dull nights, wasn't it?
Hume closes his fingers slightly as Eyren squirms beneath his grasp, watching the pulse beat in her neck to gauge her nervousness. He leans in close to hiss invitingly, "Just dinner? and a show."
Leoxander would sigh at Terra. "Fine..."
Terra grinned at Aerindir, nodding in a small show of gratitude. "You're a peach." Before she could see any further reaction, Leo's own lack of enthusiasm caused her to frown. She'd point to it, staring hard at Leo. "Do you see this? I never do this. --You-- are my reason for doing it, Leo. You ask me to fix you, to do this or that, to supply you with a poison that's killing you and I DO it." By now, she's seething, glaring and looking for something to throw. "Pretend to be excited, pretend you care that I want you to help me do something, or so help me I'll ... I'll ... get rid of all the rum here! I'll do it."
Leoxander said to Terra, "Let's say I don't actually... go to this dinner. What would you say I do?" Willing to take direction, he'd wander back to the elven vampire's side to murmur this near her ear, wherever she might be. He cast a glance around at their comrades, who kept repeating the term 'just dinner'. Well, Leo wasn't that kind of guy to stop at a simple meal. He could improvise. There had to be some meaning behind his words as he finished... "Let's say you just bring me a few leftovers... you know my taste."
Terra was attempting to threaten him, she really was - that was the pathetic part. The panting vampiress settled back to the counter to glare at her maps. This would go over well, without surly attitudes, she'd be sure of it.
Leoxander said, "Rare, preferably."
Leoxander rubbed a hand across his nose, looking hung over, like usual. By now he'd at least rub the blood off his face with a callused hand.
Eyren fought down the urge to listen to the voice inside her head that had naught but misgivings to send fluttering about her mind; ignored the slight increase of her pulse. She would only nod, scooting forward so that she perched at the edge of the chair. "Ahh, sounds ... exciting" she murmurs, still refusing to look directly at him.
Leoxander said, "Can't I be enthusiastic out of the way?"
Terra is immediately calmed by his presence, soothed enough that she was willing to comply with his requests to bring him 'leftovers'. "Near the Eternity. I'll bring you your ... bits, babe. I'll bring some things for Jack too, since I'm guessing you left him aboard. Poor puppy."
Terra said to Leoxander, "Play nice or when I fix your eye, I'll stitch a butterfly next to your brow."
Terra said, "We'll need to leave soon. I'd hate to be an... inconvenience to our serving staff."
Eilyo sighs lightly, counting the number of already poured pixie beers sitting on the bar-top. With a light sigh slipping past her full lips, she bends down a moment, grabbing her satchel. She moves over to the fire, settling herself in one of the chairs there. She proceeds to take off her boots, setting them beside the chair. She then sets her satchel down beside the boots, reaching in it a moment before pulling out a bottle. After opening it, she proceeds to take a long swig from it. She tucks her slender legs beneath her, idly watching the fire as she drank the bottle.
Hume releases Eyren at the moment of her acquiescence and nods, satisfied, "It will be most welcome to have you along. I'm fairly certain I'll be able to restrain my appetites at this dinner party, however I cannot speak for the rest of the assembly." He moves away from her and back to the gaggle surrounding the maps, looking askance at the heated words between Terra and Leo, commenting, "No need to argue over the bill now. Surely that can wait till after dessert?"
Terra had the gall to look offended. "I won't eat him..."
Leoxader would close his mouth and stop arguing for awhile. No point with a woman. "No problem, just so happens I've a voyaged planned. What say you bring your crew, your prize, and we escape the chance o' you bein' busted?" A hint of a grin would cross the pirate's rugged features, then, eyes still covered by his messy hair. "I'll hold a bit of treasure for you, anytime."
Aerindir has grinned to Terra as well, the future prospect continually on his mind, which makes him glad there are no telepaths around. Waiting for further instruction now, he's just watching the vampiric female interacting with Leo, while not attempting to intervene, for it's not his place to interfere, and possibly make things worse.
Terra said, "If anyone gets lost, head back to the Eternity to meet up. We can eat ... ice cream there. If you're unable to make it, seek me, so I know you'll be safe and away. Any questions?"
Terra said to Leoxander, "...you. Meet me away from there, for your prize. I'd hate to make a mess in front of everyone."
Saiyah shakes her head; this woman was really going to have to work on her cover ups more.
Hume takes a slight breath in, considering for a moment luring Terra into a vision of the two unconscious, helpless guardsmen lying at her feet, their hearts still pounding the thick red blood in their veins... but demurs. Looking instead to Leo as he speaks of escape, he remarks, "Your disheveled friend makes an excellent point. What if more than the two sentries show for the night. We'd do best to have such an escape awaiting us."
Hume claps his hands together softly, "Dessert on the sea then. Now let us be off."
Leoxander couldn't help but raise his brows at that. He gives Terra a mocking salute, a half of a grin, and turns away to head toward the door. But just because he might appear to be leaving doesn't mean he'll lose track of their location. A pat on Hume's shoulder on the way out. "You leave that part to me, mate." A little firmer of a pat than necessary, we'll say.
Hume chuckles and nods to the departing pirate, thinking they'll get along just fine.
Terra was nervous. She couldn't help but be in such a state. She had been recruited into this clan as a healer - and so dubbed Miss Mercy for her gentle nature. Would a person of gentle nature be caught 'pon the streets on Cenril where guards and urchins alike broke from the crowds, attempting to find refuge? Surely a person of such a title would be better dressed, and not wearing tight-fitting leather that left little to the imagination, with a fedora pulled low to keep those eyes of her from being identified. Guards, likely men who opted to be at the sea and not on duty judging by their scent, kept a cautious eye 'pon the vampiric vixen. Afterall, a woman dressed like that at this hour could be up to no good unless ... They would exchange a look beneath the ebon sky, and continue to watch her. Boots of an even softer material made little sound as she came closer to them, a smile playing 'pon those lips that were barely hidden in the stars light and the natural glow of the moon. "Boys," That low whispering purr of a voice was not Terra's usual, and the sultry look reserved for them would never be caught upon that innocent facade, but desperate times and all... "I need a bit of help... I seem to have lost my necklace when I was here earlier today." A hand falls to her neck, trailing lower... hinting. "I last recall having it over there." To the corner she'd gesture, hoping that Hume was in place. "But I'm afraid it's so dark that I can't see anything. I'm sure a few more eyes couldn't hurt. Will you help? I'll give you a reward..." She'd smile, careful to conceal the fangs that peeked out with excitement, anxious to find the soft flesh of their throats. Of course, they'd follow along with her helpless act, their minds leaving the reward up to their own desires. They'd follow her obediently into the darkness and now it would all be up to those that lurked within the shadows...
Aerindir is lurking in the shadows as well, those lingering traits that he'd picked up before he was again made mortal drawn on as he waits. Sure, he'll be slower to react, but that is hardly a concern at present, and what does weigh most on his mind is the task at hand. As such, Terra is ever watched, partially, and mostly listened to, as he awaits the cue which will ensure it's time for him to act as well.
Hume waits in the shadows around the corner of the armory, idly digging his claws into a granite cornerstone of the sturdily built structure. A cool flame of anger burns within him, remembering his visit to the shop only day before when he'd made a simple request of them. Imagine his shock when, to hone the fine sabers which were the pride of his well-kempt hands, they dared use a metal file on his talons! Far beyond never shopping there again, Hume now sought to exact his revenge from the incompetents working their forge and sharpening wheels. Careful to rub out any evidence of scratch marks that might lend a clue as to who stood here this night, he bides his time in the darkness. Soon enough he hears the padding footsteps of the 'Merciful' vampiress turned sultry temptress, followed close behind by the hapless duo she lured in. When they draw near, he waits to step from the shadows, his form looming dark in the night. He would spread his vast wings in a display to steal their breath, if not their minds, his voice rumbling out in a mellifluous tone, "Gentlemen!" His blows would come swiftly, scale against steel, hoping to incapacitate the hirelings of this odious shop with a minimum of collateral injury.
Eyren had trailed the group over the various bridges of both Vailkrin and Cenril alike and now stood in the shadows, her eyes flickering from one shadow to the next. She was doing something wrong, she knew that, there was no dinner to be had, and she shuddered at the show that she knew would follow this adventure. Never had she been forced to set her hands to the task of willfully hurting another. Every fiber seemed to wish to turn her back; to have her simply walk away, yet ... there would be those that perhaps .. she could help, after all was said and done.
Terra was doing her best to keep up with this facade, given that this temptress gig was nothing like her normal self, despite her inability to be faithful to any one person, the Cabal aside. At Hume's dramatic appearance she'd cringe, not at all prepared - however, it wouldn't do too much in the way of frightening her - Tristram had done the same thing and she had since adapted to the appearance. The two goons behind her wouldn't be as lucky. The burlier of the two would wet himself with fear - after all, they were paid to guard the place from the occasional burglar - not creatures of such a massive stature. Though he would try to run, it'd likely do no good for Terra would quickly catch his wrist. Mercy had been left in the Tavern, in the wake of those departed, and so his wrist would be snapped easily. "Scream and I'll rip your throat out." He was tossed to the floor, left to Hume's own devices. The other, however, would be entirely up to Hume's antics for Terra didn't bother to glance his way. "Do whatever you feel is necessary." Aerindir, finally caught despite his cloak of shadows, earned a wink. The whimpering man on the floor would be kicked, and to his satisfaction, nothing would be broken aside from his pride. After all, what would the others think of a urine-soaked guard? "I'll take the other." To the roof of the building she'd gesture to ...something... that was lurking above, muscles tensed for battle. "You know where to meet --after-- you've completed the job." With that, she was away, vanished into the night and into the place next door.
Terra had left the other members of the Cabal to their own devices. She was certain that everything would go over well, barring the squeamishness of those that didn't agree entirely with the plan. All was silent in the store she stood in front of, and that's the best way for it to be. Even the owner had long since locked up and left the place, expecting that the guards that barred this place from intruders would be capable enough. Mind you, she'd likely didn't expect for the Cabal to be the ones behind the plot, and that they would have in their company, a mighty beast. Hume would be well rewarded for his compliance, Terra would be sure. Silently, she'd move one of the loose stones near the door away from its keep, and behind it would be a hidden key, one Terra had watched put into place many nights before. This idea was not half-cooked, and despite her previous stance on thievery, she was excited. Blood pulsed through every fiber of her being, and yet again fangs would peek from their casual resting place. The glinting tapestries 'pon the wall caught her attention for a moment and then she went quickly to work. Anything that could be gathered into the bags that she had brought with her, was. It had been enchanted by disillusioned pixies in the valley of magic, and would size itself accordingly to accommodate the various items stuck inside of it. The weight would be a burden; yet another thing Terra had taken into consideration. Though it may have seemed like a silly idea, the vampiress had Asher summon his reptilian friends, and the chatting parade of scaly fiends crept through the open door. Everything from lizards to alligators waltzed in, leaving no trace on their presence in this place. It seemed everything would go without a hitch...
Shishi waltzes into the shop, he is unusually alone besides the bat on his shoulder. Without his children and their Undead guardian perhaps his angelic mask works as a more effective disguise, but that might be wishful thinking.
That was until the vampiress turned and bumped into Shishi, surprise befalling her careful features. Immediately, the vampiress was weary ... and uncomfortable. Attempting to manage in that tight-fitting dress used for distraction wasn't easy, and maneuvering about the building was far more difficult than it should have been. "Shi!"
Shishi twitches once as he's bumped into and a second time when he's identified so easily. The vampire frowns behind his vizard and nervously begins to explain himself as he feels her surprised greeting might have inside it a hidden question as to why he's here after the shop's closing time. The assassin lifts his mask up above his head so that his speech isn't muffled, revealing a weak smile, a pair of fangs peeking out from behind his lips, "Heheh... hi, Terra." He speaks in hushed tones as she had appeared to be sneaking, "I was here in the city hun-..." He'd rather not explain why he was here, it seems, "I was here in the city and... well I saw you sneaking around and..." He looks down to the ground bashfully, "I was curious and I followed you... but you knew where the secret key was, so you must own this place or something, right!?" He'll look back up to make eye contact with the thief, grinning innocently.
Terra ushered the band of reptiles out the door, the vast majority of weapons hidden within the charmed sack upon their back. They knew where to go, for Terra had explained in detail the location to head towards. And they would be careful... afterall, it was dangerous for them to be seen in the open like this, stolen merchandise or no... Meanwhile, Terra returned Shishi's smile, a mite bit nervously. "Uh ... yes, I ... uhm, just doing inventory." The suddenly shy vampiress would scratch the back of her neck, attempting to avoid looking guilty. "Uh. Shishi - could you go with them to the Eternity for me? I need to close up and hide the key again." She'd not mention that she'd need to collect a body to bring back as a prize for a certain pirate... "I'll take you out on the sea or ... something." Even if he'd offer protests, she'd begin the process of shoo'ing him out the door, ready to put this place behind her and nervous about the fate of those robbing the place next door. Not to mention, what would Shishi's children think of her when they heard? Unable to bear the thought of them thinking badly, she'd go along with the charade, and beckon Shi away to keep an eye on her brigade of reptilian foes.
Shishi raises a brow at the reptillian troupe, scratching the back of his head at Terra's request. Before he knows it he's being ushered out the door. Looking over his shoulder at the elf, indeed protesting, but perhaps not why she had thought he had protest, "Eh~? The Eternity?" shooting a confused look over his shoulder. He had never been to the ship, let alone learned it's name, he could, of course just follow the reptiles as they appear to know where to go, but he won't realize this until he's been fully pushed out the door and has to run after the obedient creatures to catch up.
Terra would indeed force Shishi out, though it wasn't to be rude. She'd wait until he trailed behind her slithery companions before locking up and sealing the key away once more. Hey! - She wasn't that crass. Of course, she'd also creep into the night... but it wasn't for the same purpose as Shishi's.
-----MEANWHILE AT THE ARMOR SHOP ------
Aerindir interprets the shout made by Hume to be the signal, and because of that he's emerged from the spot in which he's been hiding, the bow he uses now snapped together and set up properly in seconds. Using arrows comprised only of his own aura, the ranger is, unless Terra is going to take care of them, aiming to strike down the guards approaching her. If so, then he's going to just skip ahead and aiding the avian after appearing in the doorway. Uncaring it seems, though they're just strong enough to paralyze temporarily, he's aiming those arrows at each of the people gathered, so they offer no resistance. How many he hits however, depends on Hume, and it can be assured, that when the initial task is done, that he'll help in other ways as well.
Eyren vanished before your eyes, perhaps never to be seen again.
Hume folds his wings back and snakes forward at the stunned guard, even as Terra throws the other to the ground. Catching the hireling by the upper arm as the fellow begins to fumble towards a weapon at his waist, Hume places a long, outstretched finger to his own lips, and urges, "Shh!" Placing his palm over the guard's mouth, he spins the fellow around, making him an easy target for Aerindir's sleep inducing arrows, nodding down at the second guard, indicating he should be rendered unconscious for the night by the magic bolts as well.
Aerindir finishes with the primary task, which is paralyzing the people inside the shop, precision earned only through training aiding him in this task. After Hume has given him new targets, he again creates energy comprised arrows, one hand running along the curved edge of the bow, so that the shape of an arrow is taken on, slowly. When he has, it's fired, and even as this happens, another is readied in the same manner, aimed squarely at the second guards back. Both do hit, and satisfied with this, the elf is finally heading toward the destination once more, still quite on guard naturally, regardless of the successful thus far.
Hume lets the unconscious form of the guardsman fall to the ground, awaiting Eyren's tender ministrations when she awakens from her daydream. He follows after Aerindir, it now a simple task to infiltrate the shop, and, recalling Terra's well drawn map of the inner rooms, their way is made to the vault. A massive steel structure with bars preventing grasping hands from pilfering the coin secured within. He turns to Aerindir, "Perhaps you can get us past the locks? I thought our vampiress would be doing the deed for us... I suppose I could always attempt to bend the bars."
Aerindir might still possess a lot in the way of stealth, but he's not even slightly good with getting past locks, unless it involves kicking down doors anyway. As such, the male is shaking his head, annoyed only slightly, as he says, "Nope, can't say that I can... not something like that at least." Regardless of his admission however, the ranger is considering, always seeking another means of entry. Knowing it might very well leave him weakened due to loss of energy, he's saying, "Perhaps however.. if I can make the very lock explode, that will give us access." while he presses the hand not gripping his bow against the object mentioned. If left undisturbed, he's going to force a good deal of energy out, and into the lock's mechanism, forcing it to compress until such a time that it explodes, destroying the gears and latches inside. Whether this works however, depends, and could easily backfire, so here's wishing him luck.
Hume moves to a window as Aerindir prepares his magics, fearing that such an explosion might draw reinforcements from the city guard. Looking up and down the deserted nighttime street, he notes not a soul in sight. Passing a nod to his fellow burglar he clenches his teeth in anticipation of the splitting of the lock, ready to spring forward into the ruined vault to snatch bags of coin and flee into the dark.
Aerindir winces, visibly, even though he'd been expecting the explosion, curse those sensitive ears of his. When the door has been opened, the lock useless now thanks to the parts within being either destroyed or ruined irreparably, he's now moving inside the vault as well. Along with Hume, the elf is gathering as much as he can comfortably carry, bag after bag stashed into the pack that he'd been carrying to help with this task. Finally certain he's got enough to justify even showing up, while not weighing himself down, the male now flees as well, keeping to the shadows, always, until he can reach a rooftop and move that way.
Hume snatches up armloads of loot as well, spilling the treasure across the floor of the shop for street urchins to pick through as they flee into the night with the greater prizes. Far off voices are raised in alarm at the noise of the blast, and he class out to his conspirator, "Meet you on the waves!"
