Victor Style Dueling
By: The Ren
This is vaguely similar to what everyone knows as dueling nowadays. But as all have come to notice- dueling makes little sense. So Renin beats the crap out of bob over there with his swords only to stop, fall over, unconscious and let judges decide he won? What the hell is that? Here is the criteria for Victor Style Dueling.
-Five, seven, or nine posts… as normal.
-Judges are strictly ooc, if they are mentioned as ‘judges’ throughout the duel it’s an immediate disqualification- unless they are ic judges, for a tournament or whatnot.
-The final defense does not end in your character turning to face the judges, or falling over in a heap. The final defense is not the end! Your final defense will end as would every other defense right before you attack in every other post.
Ex: Renin brings Zephyr up high, steel colliding with the enemy’s, both fighter’s strain against each others might in this contest of strength.
- That would be the end of my final defense… then the judges decide who won. Ex: Renin won.
-Now comes the fun part, the victory. As in a real fight, victory comes at the tip of a sword, head of an arrow, or at the brunt of a well aimed lighting bolt. The winner actually wins the duel, he/ she executes a move that shows they are the victor in the bout.
Ex: Renin thrusts Zephyr higher now, right knee bending at an unnatural angle and jutting upwards- slamming into the mid of his enemy’s stomach. Gasping in pain Duragh falls back, Raze finding its opening, finally, in this test of battle prowess- cutting through the narrow sector between the two with a raspy ‘shing’. A deep red line suddenly welts up across Duragh’s torso, the attack taken moment’s to kick fully into effect. Both weapons of Rennion are brought to a sudden reverse in direction, each suddenly pointing, tip-first at the body of the fallen enemy. “You lose.” His words are ominous and taunting, but true nonetheless.
- Now they are certain bounds, this is not a fight to the death, else Ren’s would have instead found an opening for his neck and decapitated him. You cannot overstep these bounds, giving the opponent some irreversible wound (unless agreed upon in the ooc stakes of the duel). There are limits.
- Now all you rp fans out there, look at this and just stop to think… no longer would you have to worry about people ruining your rp. Or you character winning a battle while he was the one that took the most of the damage in the battle. Everything (atleast close to) makes logical sense with this form of dueling. I would encourage any and all of you to pick it up, it would greatly enhance both the rp AND dueling aspects of Hollow as we know it.
Sincerely,
OOCLY the Rennion of da’Telleson
