Nemisis walks down the steps towards the cellar and begins to look around. The dug out room was fairly big but the walls needed to be smoothed out and the floor was stained with the aftermath of the excavation. Walking further into the room, he stands in the middle talking to himself, “What was it she wanted again? Oh yea, you gotta be able to jump pretty high.” With that he commences his first test: the height test.
Looking up and down to check and make an assumption, he leaps into air using a fixed amount of strength within his legs. The draconian goes up and to his relief, barely makes it to the top; test one complete. Yet again, the man begins to talk to himself, “Hmmm…….what was next? Uh….she wanted the walls to be fire proof.” Smacking his forehead he says to himself, “Duh! That’s why I went through the trouble to get the blasted shaping sand.” The thought of what he went through to get the gourd of blue sand offers him a shudder before the thought passes.
Continuing his work, the man looks at the rough wall and says, “I guess I should smooth this place out first.” Ironically he uses his power of fire to complete this task. Nemisis places one hand on the wall and begins to drag it across the protruding rocks that defy the symmetry of the walls. As his palm reaches one of these, it immediately raises to a scorching level, melting the rock into place while removing the excess. This took the demi about a half hour making sure everything was just right. When he was finally done he allowed himself a brief time to stretch before concentrating his energy to open up a portal and pull out the gourd containing the magical fireproof sand. The gourd was fairly big and up to the man’s waist. It also was covered with inscriptions which gave the power to control the sand.
Leaning down, he reads the inscription, “Lash…wick…. sai….. me…cuth… thi… eth?” With those words read, the inscriptions glowed a bright gold before coming off the gourd and swirling themselves around the half-breed’s arms. Blinking at his new tattoos he opens his palm and tries to draw the sand to him. Sure enough, the gourd uncorks itself and the blue sand flows out and swirled within his palm. A smile appears on his face before he uses both hands to control a greater amount of sand to start covering the walls. He first starts with the northern wall, covering all of it and filling around the entrance to the room perfectly. Next he started with the eastern and western wall, blanketing them with the blue fireproof substance. Before he finishes the rest of the room, he decides to put in the cages. As a result, he puts the cork back in the gourd and places it aside.
Nemisis once again opens up a portal and pulls out the base of one of the adamantine cage support beams and measures it. Walking over to the western part of the room and walks a few feet before melting out a perfect shape of the base. Next he goes over to three other spots and does the same. Then he goes over to the eastern part and imitates what he did in the western area except the distance between the squares are a bit closer. Once that is done he goes back to the portal and pulls out on of the eight support beams. The beam is fairly thick and curved at the top. The sides of the beam have holes that will hold the bars that will make most of the cage. Embedded inside the beam are many characters that give away the sign of one or many spells. Placing the beam in the square made for it, it fits perfectly. The curved top reaches the ceiling of the cellar, just like he planned. Next he commences to pull out the rest of beams and put them in their place.
Once that is finished, Nemisis reaches into that same portal and pulls out smaller and thinner poles that also have spells embedded inside but also incantations at the end of each side that are designed to fuse the poles and the beams together. Due to the tiny print of the spells, the draconian has to squint his eyes before to reading, “Leth…..ith….beth….un…” This time when the spell was read nothing happened but the incantations disappeared. Shrugging his shoulder he places the poles inside the beams but still nothing happens. As he continues to put them in, he realizes the room is lighting up from the glow being projected through the beams. Rushing to see what is going on; to his relief the poles were beginning to fuse with the beam.
Knowing he got what he paid for, he continues to construct the cages. Before putting in the side that will be the entrance, he walks inside each cage starting with the larger one. The base of the cage was missing and as strong as Nemisis was, even he couldn’t lift it. In order for it to be in place, it had to be fall in. Using both hands, he starts tearing open another portal starting from the left side of the cage, going tracing the inside, and ending up at the right, then making his displacement none. When it is complete, the portal is one giant square and out comes the heavy base. It falls with a thud, shaking the entire tavern.
Luckily, he was alone or Tenebrae would be making a fuss. The perimeter of the base was a little higher that prevented anyone from slipping out the sides of the cage. It also allowed the based to be filled with a substance if preferred. Just like the poles, it had spells embedded inside and at the edges that already began to fuse with the beams after saying, “Neth….deth…..un.” This action was imitated with the smaller cage as well. Now all was left was to put in the entrance to the cages, finish fireproofing the walls, put some more light into the room, and furnish it somewhat. Grunting somewhat out of exhaustion, he goes back to first portal and pulls out some more poles and fits them in, however he stops at a certain point, leaving a specific amount of height for the door. Then he takes out the door for the larger cage.
Along the outline of the door are spells that had the same purpose as the others and it had characters embedded within as well. Also the door was also riddle with various gnomish locks. Reading the phrase, “Plak eth in” he fuses the door in with poles above and the base below, leaving the sides eager to be fused. That is when the man takes out a shorter set of poles and places them in one side. For the other side he takes out poles of the same size but has many intricate end pieces for the various locks in the door. He fuses the last poles and the larger cage was done. The actions taken to put in the door for the eastern cage was highly similar, in fact the only difference was the number of pole with end pieces since the door did not have as many locks (though there were still many) as the larger one.
Finally the cage was in, though it was a –tiny- probability that it will move or someone could break in, the top and bottom of the cages had to be sealed in the floor. Grabbing the gourd once more, the draconian uncorks it and controls the blue sand to cover the ceiling and the tip of the cages, making the room slightly smaller in height. Next he grabs the gourd and rises into the air. He then controls the sand to spread the sand across the floor and around the base of the cages and once again decreasing the height of the room but not the cages. Last was the southern wall which was where the outbreak of spiders was. Most of the wall was covered but something unfortunate happened, the sand began to run out-- small pieces of the bottom of the wall weren’t, specifically where the hole was.
Nemisis shouts, “Damnit! I have to get more sand…” Shrugging it off for now, he reaches into his bag and pulls out four light crystals which he hurls at the corner of each wall and sinking slightly into the sand. In one motion he relinquishes his control of the sand with, “Kai!” Immediately the tattoos return to the gourd the sand hardens sealing anything within it. The room was done and it looked pretty cool. The room was blue, the cages lit up the place and room fit the mood. He then tested the walls, using the temperature he used to melt the rock; he sends five huge fireballs at every wall but the southern. The southern was bombarded with a smaller fireball. Just like expected, the sand protected everything it covered: Test two complete. Last the man takes some tables from upstairs and places them in the room just to furnish it somewhat. Finally his task was complete and the man went upstairs, wrote a note saying the cellar was done, sat in a seat and fell asleep with the note in front of him.
