Ayame slowly slips into the tavern and saunters toward the bar. The elf takes her usual seat at the bar and wrinkles her nose in thought of what to drink.
Krali quietly enters the bar, leaving barely a mark as crosses the tavern's doorway and makes his way to his usual spot by the fireplace. He sits down with a sigh of relaxation.
Veszmurss blinks as Tene brings the people. He shrugs and looks about, it's not like he's a bartender. He'll fill in though seeing as how everyone is absent from their duties though. He flips backwards off the counter-top. Grabbing a towel up he wraps it neatly about his arm, looking out he waits for orders. Talking to Saira, "The Hanging Corpse has new workers...though they seem absent tonight."
Saira turns to cast a glance over at Krali, a small nod given to the man before she pivots back around only to find Veszmurrs behind the counter rather then on it. The woman gives a slow nod, ''Ah, I see.''
Tenebrae pushed the door open with one elbow, and entered sideways to avoid knocking the enormous stack of boxes and packages she was carrying in her arms. Barely able to see above the top of them, she teetered toward the bar on the metal heels that changed her height from five-feet-one to five-feet-six and came to a halt. She'd turn her head, then, toward several of the men present. "Little help?"
Krali stands up from his seat where he just sat down, opens his eyes and heads toward Tenebrae. "How many you want me to take?"
Tenebrae said to Krali, "Oh, just the first ten or so, off the top there." She grimaced, as several packages started to slide. "Just.. don't hold on to the one that makes a chittering sound for too long, eh?"
Ayame now seeing the man behind the bar and ready for orders, she leans slightly towards the man, elbows resting on the bartop as her chin rests in the palms of her hands. Looking to the drow, she smiles slightly, "I'll have a rum."
Krali places a hand on top of the stack of boxes held in Tenebrae's arms and takes a majority of the boxes from her. "Now where do these go?"
Veszmurss sighs and hops back over the bar and relieves Tene of the boxes, "Where these heading Joli?"
Veszmurss said to Ayame, "A moment please eh Ayame?"
Ayame said to Veszmurss, "Sure, not a problem."
Veszmurss balances the boxes on one hand and reaches inside his jacket with the other. He utters an incantation and a little elemental pops up and gets Ayame a rum, hovering it over to her, then awaiting pay.
Tenebrae said, "Thanks, Vesz. And right over to the bar, thankyou Krali."
Veszmurss hops himself back over the bar with the boxes, he sets them down somewhere out of the way.
Krali heads to the bar, looking around as not to trip. "You're welcome Tene . . ."
Ayame said to Veszmurss, "Um... Actually... Make that a glass of ale.."
Tenebrae made sure to hold on to one box in particular, and watched as the parcels were delivered neatly to the bar. "Right, there's the shopping out of the way." She glanced toward the men. "Any trouble, since I was out?"
Rasja walks in, gazing back along the crowd before sidling in at her post behind the bar.
Krali raises an eyebrow. "Trouble?"
Veszmurss :: The little wind elemental hovers the ale over to her, awaiting payment.
Veszmurss said to Tenebrae, "Let's see....the boy came back again, threatening who I assume is you. Though he called you Tenebrae oddly." The drow shrugs, "I got him outta here on the quick-fast. And then some lycan was bothering Terra, so I annoyed him out of here."
Veszmurss grins to Rasja from behind the bar, "Evening."
Ayame smiles as she reaches her hand to her backside, digging in a pocket to pull out a few coins. Carelessly placing them on the bartop in front of the drow, she continues to smile, "Keep the change."
Tenebrae shrugged toward the Monk. "You know, rambunctious guests, dark legions tramping through, errant ... things... crawling up from that hole in the floor over there..." She hitched a thumb toward the ever-increasing and seemingly abyssal pit next to the broom closet, from which the faint sound of dwarven mining songs was rising. "Bit of a worry.. though the dwarves manage to squash most of the .... things." Her smile was a small one.
Veszmurss nods to Ayame, "Many thanks." The wind elemental scoops up the coinage and hands it to Vesz, vanishing. He sighs, looking to Tene.
Krali said to Tenebrae, "Ah, I see . . ."
Tenebrae looked sharply to Veszmurss. "That boy, with the beetles, you mean?" She sighed. "He's a bit mental, really, isn't he?" Under her breath she'd mutter, "Like I bloody collect 'em." A bit louder she said, "And who was this lycan, Vesz?"
Rasja turns to Veszmurss, a smile soon sent his way along with a wave, "Hello."
Terra appears from the north.
Veszmurss nods, "Aye that boy." He thinks a moment, "I don't know but he had a real lusting for Terra, yet was continually belittling the fact that we have dancers." He shrugs, "Really messed up guy." He thinks more, "You know, there also was some illusionist, disguised as a scholarly old man, came in and was pestering me with mindless banter. Though he eventually left."
Veszmurss mutters to Joliette, "I know what you mean, I attract them too."
Rockie rolls into the tavern, seemingly knocked into tumble by some wanderer outside. The rock stops at the foot of a nearby chair; specifically, Veszmurss'.
Terra entered the establishment easily; gliding past the scattered tables and chairs to the bar. Joliette recieved a smile as Terra bent over the bar to retrieve the rag abadoned earlier, "Hey there."
Tenebrae 's brow crinkled with a slight frown. "Illusionist.. do go on. Was there anything else significant about him? And what was he saying?"
Veszmurss looks at the random rock that rolls in tapping his foot as he finds the bar staffed for the moment and hops back to the other side. He looks down at it, "What the hell?" He really wish he had his insignia ring.
Rockie is a rock; ignore the 'human' part. Sometimes it likes to believe it is a human.
Rockie is scrutinized by the drow, sitting there. Why wouldn't it?
Tenebrae looked up to find Terra smiling at her, and returned the gesture broadly. "Oh, ello, pet." She returned her gaze rapidly to the rock. "What the...?"
Mercedes limps into work, clutching her side and smiling warmly at her friends and co-workers. Although she's dressed in her dancing attire, the woman weakly flops into a chair at the bar, apparently not dancing tonight.
Terra payed close attention to Veszmurss at the mention of an illusionist. "Was there a beggar nearby? Did he wear robes of khaki?"
Veszmurss looks to Joli, eye-sight never leaving the rock, "Not really, he always had some sadistic grin on his face. And he went on about how people aren't always as they seem, and how controlling insanity is power and so on. Never showed me what was beneath the illusion though, and I don't have my insignia ring to be able to see such things."
Colin offers a wave to all as he enters the tavern. Cobalt-green eyes glancing about to those in the tavern, a wave is offered to Rasja, while Tenebrae and Vszmurss both received polite nods. Moving to take a seat at the bar, the human merely turns around so he can watch the tavern, his weapon leaning against the stool on his right side.
Rockie teeters ever-so-slightly, managing to roll with uncanny accuracy at a nearby, smaller rock. It hits it quietly, the smaller of the two rolling away at contact. Rockie is victorious.
Veszmurss sighs and looks to Terra momentarily, "No and I wasn't paying attention."
Saira had until now been starring off idly as the woman so often did and now glances around finding the tavern had acquired quite the number of people. The rogue still remains at the bar silently watching, biting at a single fingernail.
Veszmurss looks at the rock blankly, "What the fiery hells!? Why do I get the possessed rocks? Go bug Colin!" He points to the human warrior.
Mercedes snickers at Ves.
Tenebrae flaps a hand toward Colin, whom she'd seen in her periphery, and to Mercedes, who received the same, the vampiress' attention absorbed for the moment with the rock. "Well, Vesz, we can expect all types in here, as well as the staff's personal enemies, some of which are highly annoying. I fear you'll have your work cut out for you, you security fellows." Her look grazed over the rock a last time and turned to Mercedes. "Ello, sweets. Have you seen a healer, yet?"
Mercedes said to Veszmurss, "At least you didn't get stabbed by the bug boy."
Rasja skips behind the bar towards Colin, leaning along its top with a smile shining up at him, "Hello again, fighting Sir."
Rockie isn't possessed. It is simply a rock, nothing more, nothing less. The life of a rock is mundane, overlooked; and yet, spectacular.
Jabari pushes through the tavern doors, shaking his head a bit, doing a small double take, "More... People...."
Mercedes blinks at the rock again, the woman shaking her head before settling her gaze on Jolie's. "Yes...Terra helped me, though I'm still in slight pain. Thank you dearest."
Veszmurss said to Mercedes, "I'd like to stab his disgracing face."
Mercedes said to Veszmurss, "*points towards the door, which Jarad just entered* By all means..."
Colin turned to face Rasja, a smile playing across his lips as he sat himself upright," The name is Colin lass, but I'm afraid I never got yours." Glancing to the newcomer from the north, he spots Jarad," Oh damnit.."
Jarad said to Mercedes, "How could you... do this to me...." his fangs were noticeable, his wound on his stomach was puckered closed. He looked like a new vampire, the blood from the holes in his neck still bleeding from where Mercedes bit him. He knew he would have no free will if she desired it, so he did not move towards her. "Why?"
Tenebrae was about to offer Rasja and Terra effusive hallo's, and listen to Mercedes, and a dozen other things, when she spied the trouble-maker entering the bar. "Oh good," she smiled. "Saved me the trouble."
Rockie is scrutinized, but is lethargically busy soaking up the little rays of sun upon it. A little bug perches upon its surface.
Veszmurss grumbles at the rock, kicking it to the door, which opens with an incantation. Hoping to send the rock barreling outwards.
Mercedes said to Jarad, "How can you claim to be afraid of something without experiencing it? *a wicked grin creeps across her face* And you stabbed me...Did you not?"
Veszmurss looks to Jarad, groaning, "I'm not dealing with him yet."
Rockie is kicked, yet manages to miss the doorway, hitting the wall near it. It bounces back, rolling toward the center of the establishment.
Jarad spots all the denizens of the tavern looking to harm him. There was no way he could fight all of them, he was still too weak for even dealing with one of them. Mercede's having bitten him didn't help either. She could assert her authority subconciously as his sirer and remove his free will with a thought. He stood no chance.
Mercedes moves from her seat and sits beside Ves, feeling slightly more at ease beside the bouncer.
Terra said to Veszmurss, "If he comes again, avoid him."
Mercedes studies Jarad and blinks, hoping he didn't think of her as his sire.
Rasja answers slowly, "Rasja.." Though her attention is diverted to one of the newcomers, one of which she actually knew, Jabari. He was sent a high wave in greeting.
Tenebrae, satisfied there was to be no imminent violence - except perhaps to the rock - tilted her chin toward Jabari, crooked a finger and indicated he should follow her toward one of the quieter tables, his nervous mien being catered to.
Jarad said to Mercedes, "I refuse... I refuse this curse... This is your fault..."
Veszmurss said to Terra, "I doubt I will. He annoys me...you know I have problems not speaking out against those that annoy me thoroughly."
Mercedes said to Jarad, "Shut up...It was either turn you or leave you to bleed out...I -saved- your life dear..."
Mercedes said to Jarad, "Even after you stabbed me...I was kind."
Jabari gives Rasja a small wave, sliding quietly over to where Tenebrae waved, hischest rising and falling deeply with the large breath as he struggled to maintain himself and sit across from Tenebrae.
Jarad staggered behind Tenebrae following her, knowing that if he didn't the violence would end his life as an undead as quickly as Mercedes had ended his living life.
Saira seems to appear from out of nowhere, spontaneously generating next to you.
Tenebrae levelled her gaze to the man as she slid into her seat. "You alright, pet?" Those peridot eyes, feral and flickering amber - reminiscent of a fire that once burned in the place of a soul inside Tenebrae - settling on his own, and propped her elbows to the table.
Rockie is kicked by the staggering Jarad, rolling after Tenebrae in mere chance.
Jarad shakes his head, showing hate in his eyes where fear used to be "I hate... all of you, and now I am one of your kind.."
Veszmurss laughs at Jarad, "Kind of ironic isn't it?"
Terra snickered to herself at the irony of Jarad's predicament.
Mercedes shifts her honey brown gaze to rest on Jarad, partially in amusement and partially in sheer hatred. "Pity...I don't think you'll survive as one of us..."
Jarad said to Veszmurss, "Shut up... I can still kill you at least."
Jabari looked towards her, meeting her eye to eye today, not peering away, "I'll... Be fine, just was... Not .. Expecting so many people. I knew you would want to talk to me..."
Mercedes grins and looks over at Terra. "That was definitely the most evil thing I've ever done..."
Jabari rubs his neck, "Oh me...."
Tenebrae turned that uncanny gaze downward to where the rock nestled at her ankle. Swooping down a pale hand to gather it up, she put it in her lap, and ran her fingers over the texture of its surface, as she listened to Jabari.
Saira cannot help but overhear bits of conversation drifting from the tavern goers here and there, a small laugh escaping the feline.
Veszmurss laughs at Jarad again, "How the hell would you know weakling? I don't see your house managing to swindle the third highest house in the Underdark from their position and possessions. Only the weak allow fear to take them. Only the weak allow themselves to be turned unwillingly. You are nothing."
Rockie is stroked, odd as it sounds; yet comforting, as it would be to a rock. Which is also odd. Either way, it is nestled snugly within the grasp of Tenebrae; observing like a rock should.
Jarad walks out of the bar, disappearing into the night.
Tenebrae said to Jabari, "Well, yes. Pity. All the same, I wanted to ask of your availability, as well as whether you had lodgings nearby."
Jabari shakes his head, "I... Have no lodgings and uhhh..." He leans in, calming down to a small whisper.
Rasja continues to lean along the bar, feet pressed back behind her in a true resting position while she gazes over at Jabari in slight curiosity. As if to not seem suspicious, she turns, speaking to Colin, "What would you like to drink?"
Jabari whispered to you, "I... Am available whenever.... Not, good with people so I have a lot of free time. "
Terra worked around to the closet, careful to avoid any construction that may be ongoing. A mop was retrieved and quickly the trail of blood left by Jarad was cleared away.
Jabari sits back up, looking back and forth as he yawns to himself, soon curling back into himself.
Veszmurss said to Terra, "I would've got that."
Tenebrae nodded softly, pursing her lips. "Now, being a -janitor- at my pub entails coming in after hours, you understand, quite often, so there's not a lot of chance you'll get to socialise much, hope that's alright, and the pay is low, but you get lodgings and food too." She pointed to the broom cupboard to the south, right by the ominously dark and dwarven-dug hole in the boards. "It's a bit cramped, but there's no spiders." She glanced toward one of the boxes on the bar, which was shivering and making a chittering sound. "At least, not after today. Sound good?"
Jabari shakes his head, "I am... Too big... I will sleep where I land..."
Terra sidestepped the hole that remained in order to replace the mop. Quietly she mingled throughout the crowd, pausing every so often to ask, "Anyone want another round?"
Veszmurss 's eyes widen, 'Is she going to -kill- those spiders?' The drow thought. He may frown upon the Matron's and the structure of the Underdark, but the Spider Queen had his favor.
Veszmurss said to Terra, "I said I would've gotten the boy's blood. I try to help all around and such."
Tenebrae nodded again to Jabari. "But the job, it's suitable?" Her gaze was quite pointed.
Tenebrae waved toward Terra. "I'll have a dark ale, sweet."
Jabari looks around, "I'd rather say my mind... Elsewhere..."
Tenebrae shrugged lightly. "Very well. But needs be a little later, for I await the King of Roads, and the pub looks to be getting busy. Does it suit you?"
Jabari blinks, "King of Roads? Why do you await him?"
Terra heard Tenebrae and went towards the bar to grab the request. Manouvering around chairs, tables, and random customers, the ale was sat before Tenebrae carefully.
Tenebrae looked up to Terra with a quick grin. "You're really good at this, pet. Glad to have you about." She slipped her a coin. "Keep change."
Terra said to Veszmurss, "I can handle it.."
Terra winked and slipped the coinage away before resuming the rounds of the place.
Tenebrae turned to Jabari, grinning. "Because he's trouble, and I need him." Her grin widened. "And he plays the piano like a god."
Jabari said to you, "I... Do not like music... It unsettles me most the time.... And I do not like trouble..."
Jabari said to Rasja, "Heya...."
Saira hops down swiftly from her bar stool and pushes open the door upon reaching it. The woman steps into the chilly night air, out of the bustling tavern.
Tenebrae found the odd rock becoming restless in her palm, shivering and rocking back and forth as if eager to be let down again. Placing it to the floor, she gave it a sharp scrutiny. "More oddness to the collection..." The rock rolled away, rapidly, over several set of boot- and shoe-tips, to halt at Terra's locale.
Rasja sends Jabari a small wave.
Tenebrae said to Jabari, "I have a feeling you won't like Darian much, either, but he's not leaving any time soon, I fear. Bit of a fixture, and I'll make him behave." She muttered to herself. "Sooner or later..."
Terra paused in the rounds to eye the rock... Already had the damned thing bruised her shoulder. Picking it up, gently tossing it up into the air to land on her palm, she thought of what to do with it. For now it was set on the counter atop a pile of napkins-- hey, rocks needed to sleep too.
Terra looked to one of the bouncers to tend to the rude beast. With disdain, she eyed the muddy prints brought in and the drool left in its wake.
Jabari said to Tenebrae, "I could make him behave...."
Tenebrae canted her head, her gaze resting on Jabari once more. "Darian? I doubt it. He's... highly individual. And not prone to doing anyone's bidding. Least of all mine, it seems." She arced a brow and sighed. "But I'll tame him, for his music. He amuses me, you know?" Her features were troubled, nonetheless.
Jabari said to Tenebrae, "I did not mean that..."
Tenebrae blinked softly. "I know exactly what you meant." She rose to her feet, brushing rock-dust from her skirt. "And I'm afraid your solution might prove impractical, for my purposes. Will you excuse me."
Tenebrae wandered back to the bar, taking up the package she'd formerly eyed, that chitter it made prior now accompanied by a soft squealing. Banging the top of the box, she made a hissing sound, whereupon it silenced and stilled. "Hm." It was a small sound of satisfaction, subsumed by the a much larger one that came rumbling, at that very moment, up from the southern end of the room, a dire and guttural echo that spoke of something large, perhaps, shifting in the dwarf-dug pit. Immediately after came the gruff voices of the constructions, pitched loud and then shrilling, and a terrible clashing of metal. And then a more terrible, and complete, silence. "What in hells..." The vampiress crossed the room quickly, to peer down into the pit. "You all alright down there?" A loose bit of stone fell away from the edge, plummeting to the utter blackness. She waited for the sound of it ricocheting off the rock floor below. And waited... A thin squeal, rather than the expected clunk, was the result, and immediately after came that rumbling again. Joliette blanched, and pulled her body hurriedly back, springing from heels to a stand, though her eyes were kept fixated on the hole. "Oh dear..." She had no time for further words, as from that abyssal dark ruptured a swell of many-legged creatures, pale and bloated, some the size of a sporting ball, other a fist, and one larger than a hunting hound, which clambered over the milling mass of its fellows and reared on its hind four legs, squirting a thin liquid. The noise the spiderish things made was sickening. Joli, all this time, had been steadily stepping backwards. "Uh.... people." She coughed softly, by way of making an announcement. "Little problem, over here...."
